S. HASSAN HOSSEINNIA (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree (Hons.) (cum laude) in electrical engineering specializing in automatic control: application in mechatronics from the University of Extremadura, Spain, in 2013. His main research interests include precision mechatronic systems design, precision motion control, and mechatronic systems with distributed actuation and sensing. He has an industrial background, having worked at ABB, Sweden. Since October 2014, he has been appointed as a faculty member in the Department of Precession and Microsystem Engineering at TU Delft, The Netherlands.

Hassan acquired over 4M euros to fund his research, of which about half is directly funded by the industry, and the rest is awarded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and TU Delft. He has had the privilege of supervising over 80 graduate students, including 10 PhDs/PostDocs and more than 70 master's students. Currently, He is leading a team of 9 dedicated PhDs and PDs, as well as overseeing a yearly rotation of 5 master's students. He has (co-)authored over 150 publications in respected journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. Additionally, he served as the general chair of the 7th IEEE International Conference on Control, Mechatronics, and Automation (ICCMA 2019). Currently, he is an editorial board member of the following journals: "Frontiers in Control Engineering", "International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems (SAGE)" and "Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis".
