How It Began

In my dreams, I saw myself riding a horse dressed in white, on a deserted beach. We were both free: he without a saddle, and I barefoot.

En mis sueños me veía montando un caballo vestida de blanco, en una playa desierta. Los dos éramos libres: él, sin montura; yo, descalza.

One day, I came across a beautiful documentary called The Path of the Horse, which reaffirmed the idea that we can experience the world differently by connecting to a greater power within. It resonated deeply with me and metaphorically reflected some of what I had already begun exploring in my work as a coach. The potential that author Stormy May envisioned was for individuals to genuinely learn how to open up and thrive — enhancing their creativity and adaptability. This involves engaging in a dance not only with horses but with life itself, while expanding relationships, creativity, and leadership skills at all levels.

Un día me encontré con un hermoso documental llamado The Path of the Horse, que reafirmaba la idea de que podemos experimentar el mundo de una manera distinta al conectar con una fuerza más grande dentro de nosotros. Resonó profundamente en mí y reflejaba, de forma metafórica, parte de lo que ya había empezado a explorar en mi trabajo como coach. El potencial que su autora, Stormy May, vislumbraba era que las personas pudieran realmente aprender a abrirse y florecer — fortaleciendo su creatividad y capacidad de adaptación. Todo esto a través de una danza, no solo con los caballos, sino también con la vida misma, ampliando así sus vínculos, su expresión creativa y sus habilidades de liderazgo en todos los niveles.

My true connection with horses was born after participating in a family constellation with horses, facilitated by Francisco Solís from PintopiA, in María Pinto. Beyond the constellation process itself, it was a deeply special experience with the horses. I felt as if I could understand what they were telling me and how they were feeling. That’s when I knew I needed to explore more deeply what was happening there.

Mi verdadero encuentro con los caballos nació tras participar en una constelación familiar con caballos, facilitada por Francisco Solís de PintopiA, en María Pinto. Más allá de la esencia misma de la constelación, fue una experiencia muy especial con los caballos. Sentí como si pudiera comprender lo que me decían y cómo se sentían. Fue entonces cuando supe que debía profundizar en lo que allí estaba ocurriendo.

Since then, my journey of research and exploration in horsemanship began, inspired mainly by Carolyn Resnick’s Liberty Training, a philosophy that spoke deeply to me.

Desde aquel día, comenzó mi aventura de investigación y exploración en el horsemanship, inspirada principalmente por el Liberty Training de Carolyn Resnick, una filosofía que me habló profundamente.

Why horses? Because horses are highly sensitive to our energy. They precisely sense when we are coherent —when what we feel, think, and express is aligned— and when we are not. They also recognize when our energy and body language are congruent or in harmony with our intention. Through their presence, they teach us the power of nonverbal communication, the importance of setting clear and respectful boundaries, and how to cultivate connection peacefully. They invite us to always be present “here and now”.

¿Por qué con caballos? Porque los caballos son sumamente sensibles a nuestra energía. Perciben con precisión cuando estamos en coherencia — cuando lo que sentimos, pensamos y expresamos está alineado — y cuándo no. Además, reconocen cuando nuestra energía y lenguaje corporal están congruentes o en sintonía con nuestra intención. A través de su presencia, nos enseñan el poder de la comunicación no verbal, la importancia de establecer límites claros y respetuosos, y cómo relacionarnos de manera pacífica. Nos invitan a estar siempre presentes “aqui y agora”.

Why with horses in freedom? Because the relationship we aim to build takes into account the horse’s perspective. It’s an invitation to get to know each other, engage, and collaborate together. This is where the term passive leadership, coined by Mark Rashid, comes from, where the horse chooses its leader and willingly follows them due to the well-being created through their shared experience, along with the mutual trust and respect they’ve built.

¿Por qué con caballos en libertad? Porque la relación que queremos construir considera también la perspectiva del caballo. Es una invitación a conocerse, a participar y a colaborar juntos. De ahí surge el término liderazgo pasivo, acuñado por Mark Rashid, donde el caballo elige a su líder y voluntariamente lo sigue debido al bienestar que genera la experiencia con él, así como a la confianza y el respeto mutuos que han construido juntos.

Meeting horses so closely was something I could never have imagined for myself — it simply wasn’t on my horizon. So it came as a pleasant surprise, and it became my way of reconnecting with nature, which had been a personal goal. I’m still curious to see where this story will lead, and I’d be delighted to have you walk this path with me.

Encontrarme tan cerca de los caballos era algo que nunca había imaginado; simplemente no estaba en mi horizonte. Fue una sorpresa agradable y, además, la manera en que encontré para reconectar con la naturaleza, un objetivo personal.
