GOAL

• Slow down my pace, but without lowering my energy—slowing the movement while maintaining inner aliveness and enthusiasm. Let go of expectations and agenda, sharpen perception, and adjust the timing.

• Go to be with them, remembering that connection is the most important thing. Be with them attentively, noticing the entry points for connection. Practice meditation, journaling, and reading a book, in that order. Then, practice moving them with the reed only with Frea and Wakan. Aside from that, use the reed only if necessary. Spend more time seated that day, resting my leg and keeping it elevated.

OBJETIVO

• Bajar el ritmo, pero sin disminuir mi energía: moverme más despacio manteniendo la vitalidad interior y el entusiasmo. Soltar la expectativa y la agenda, afinar la percepción y ajustar el timing.

• Ir para estar con ellos, recordando que la conexión es lo más importante. Estar con ellos con atención, observando los puntos de entrada para la conexión. Practicar meditación, journaling y leer un libro, en ese orden. Luego, practicar moverlos con el bastón solo con Frea y Wakan. Aparte de eso, usar el bastón únicamente si es necesario. Estar más sentada ese día, descansando mi pierna y manteniéndola elevada.

LESSON

• The fact that Flash moved Amir when I was asking him to move can be understood as an expression of collaboration: on one hand, he may have been showing me how one horse moves another; on the other, he may have been reinforcing my intention to help Amir respond; and, at a deeper level, he may have been acting as a bridge between the herd and me, translating my energy into the language of the group. Flash acted in coherence with my request; in other words, he amplified and translated my energy into the herd’s language. I experienced it as support and cooperation with my intention.

APRENDIZAJE

• El hecho de que Flash moviera a Amir cuando yo le estaba pidiendo que se moviera puede entenderse como una expresión de colaboración: por un lado, pudo estar mostrándome cómo se mueve a otro caballo; por otro, pudo estar reforzando mi intención para ayudar a Amir a responder; y, a un nivel más profundo, pudo estar actuando como un puente entre la manada y yo, traduciendo mi energía al lenguaje del grupo. Flash actuó en coherencia con mi pedido; es decir, amplificó y tradujo mi energía al lenguaje de la manada. Lo sentí como un apoyo y una cooperación con mi intención.

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

• When I arrived, the herd came in my direction; they seemed happy and euphoric. I also began walking toward them, and then they stopped in the middle of the path. I walked up to Flash, greeted him, and went back the same way I had come. Then I stopped and began greeting those who were more free from the fence, but I didn’t manage to greet everyone. So I moved more toward the center of the field to create space, and there they came closer. Flash came to greet me again and to connect; we shared a lovely connection for a while. I looked for the entry point of the connection and asked him to look at me: something in him looked at me, just with one eye, not both, and then he moved off to the side. Amir was also nearby, but he didn’t come. The other horses stayed sleeping near the fence. Later, I began the exercise of moving them; I was going to do more with Frea, but I decided to do it with everyone. Flash and Luna responded immediately. Amir wasn’t responding much, and it was interesting to see that, at one point, when I asked him to move, Flash came and moved him. That made me think of two things: that he wanted to show me how he moves someone, or that perhaps he was telling Amir that he should move because I was asking him to. With Frea, she was more responsive that day; however, I still felt that we didn’t fully come into sync. Instead of moving away, she came toward me, and I managed to move her aside, and then she moved. There was a moment when she tested me, but I moved her with my body. What was interesting was seeing the tenderness in her eyes, and that touched my heart. At one point she lay down on the ground and stayed there relaxing; she is the only one who does that in this way, without reservations. I worked with everyone except Mary, who didn’t want to greet me. I noticed that Mary had a lot of flies in her eyes, even though her eyes were open and dry; the flies were all around, completely covering the circumference, and I only noticed that with her. I don’t know if that was why she didn’t want contact that day, even though she looked fine. 

• Then I went to spend a little time inside with the mothers and their daughters, but in the end they were sleeping the whole time and didn’t come to greet me; still, they saw me and knew of my presence.

DESTACADOS DE LA EXPERIENCIA

• Cuando llegué, la manada vino en mi dirección; parecían felices y eufóricos. Yo también me fui acercando a ellos y entonces se detuvieron en medio del camino. Caminé hasta Flash, lo saludé y volvi por el mismo camino por el que llegué. Luego me detuve y empecé a saludar a todos los que estaban más libres del cerco, pero no alcancé a saludar a todos. Entonces fui más al centro del campo para abrir espacio y ahí ellos se acercaron. Flash vino a saludar de nuevo y a conectar; tuvimos una linda conexión por un rato. Busqué el punto de entrada de la conexión y le pedí que me mirara: algo me miró, apenas con un ojo, no con los dos, y luego se fue a un lado. Amir también estaba cerca, pero no vino. Los otros caballos se quedaron dormidos cerca de la cerca. Más tarde empecé a hacer el ejercicio de moverlos; iba a hacer más con Frea, pero decidí hacerlo con todos. Flash y Luna respondieron inmediatamente. Amir no estaba respondiendo mucho y fue interesante ver que, en un momento, cuando le pedía que se moviera, Flash vino y lo movió. Eso me hizo pensar dos cosas: que quería enseñarme cómo se movía a alguien o que tal vez le estaba diciendo a Amir que debía moverse porque yo se lo estaba pidiendo. Con Frea, ella estuvo más receptiva ese día; sin embargo, aún sentí que no entramos del todo en sintonía. En vez de moverse, venía en mi dirección y yo lograba apartarla, y entonces ella se movía. Hubo un momento en que me puso a prueba, pero la moví con mi cuerpo. Lo interesante fue ver que en sus ojos había ternura, y eso me tocó el corazón. En un momento ella se tiró al piso y se quedó ahí relajándose; es la única que lo hace de esa forma, sin reservas. Estuve trabajando con todos excepto con Mary, que no quiso saludarme. Noté que Mary tenía muchísimas moscas en los ojos, incluso con los ojos abiertos y secos; las moscas estaban alrededor, cubriendo completamente la circunferencia, y eso solo lo noté en ella. No sé si por eso no quiso contacto ese día, aunque se veía bien. 

• Luego fui a estar un ratito adentro con las mamás y sus hijas, pero al final estuvieron durmiendo todo el tiempo y no vinieron a saludarme; aun así, me vieron y sabían de mi presencia.
