I found the two foals especially lovely that day. To my surprise, they didn't try to nibble at me but instead showed me genuine affection by rubbing their heads against me. That was a lovely surprise. I also felt more open to letting them explore without anticipating their movements.
It made me very sad to hear that Luna was no longer with the herd and had moved to live somewhere else. She was one of the mares I found most difficult to approach, as she was very reserved at first. On the other hand, it made me so happy to have built such a beautiful connection with her and to see her open up in such a loving way. I will miss her dearly.
Flash seemed startled and was running away. I respected their space, as they were once again in the smaller area, eating the green grass. That day, I didn't end up greeting any of them, as the queltehues (southern lapwings) were also very agitated. So, I made my way to the neighboring paddock, where the mothers and their foals were.
Inca positioned herself to rest, so we didn't get to greet each other. I spent some time with Alma, who later went inside, and also shared some time with Vida and Wakan. I stayed with the two of them for quite a while, giving them affection and receiving affection in return. It was so lovely to share that moment together. Later, the two of them started playing with each other and went inside. That was when I decided to leave.
