• That day, I felt that they were calm with my presence and with having me close to them. Taking the initiative to approach Luna was also a very rewarding experience and I felt she was receptive.

APRENDIZAJE

• Ese día sentí que estaban tranquilos con mi presencia y con mi cercanía. La experiencia de tomar la iniciativa y acercarme a ella también fue muy gratificante y sentí que estaba receptiva.

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

• When I arrived, the horses were all together, close to the place where the alfalfa is stored. It was close to their dinner time, and they seemed to be keeping an eye on the man who is in charge of bringing them their food, as he was walking around nearby. However, he wasn’t coming yet, and they were all still there, almost in a line, waiting for the food to arrive. After a while, noticing that he still wasn’t coming, they went back to the field to eat grass.

• I entered and approached slowly and carefully, given the delicate moment, and managed to say hello to Amir, Mary, Flash, Luna, and Frea. After that, I felt like staying closer to Luna, side by side, and I did some grooming with her. She seemed to accept it and enjoy it. I felt as if she were an old friend whom I cherish.

• At another moment, I also spent a little time with Flash, but it was brief. I wanted to connect with Frea too, but she was in the middle of the group, so I decided not to go there.

• Then I sat with them for a little while longer, and after that, I left.

• The mothers and their foams were having their hooves trimmed that day, so I didn’t spend any time with them.

DESTACADOS DE LA EXPERIENCIA

•  Cuando llegué, los caballos estaban todos juntos, cerca del lugar donde se guarda la alfalfa. Era casi la hora de su cena y parecían estar pendientes del hombre encargado de traerles la comida, que estaba caminando por allí. Sin embargo, él todavía no venía, y ellos seguían todos allí, casi formando una fila, esperando que llegara la comida. Después de un rato, al darse cuenta de que él todavía no venía, regresaron al campo para comer pasto.

• Entré y me acerqué lenta y cuidadosamente, debido a lo delicado del momento, y logré saludar a Amir, Mary, Flash, Luna y Frea. Después de eso, sentí ganas de quedarme más cerca de Luna, a su lado, y le hice un poco de cariño. Parecía aceptar el contacto y disfrutarlo. La sentí como una vieja amiga a la que quiero y atesoro.

• En otro momento también pasé un poco de tiempo con Flash, aunque fue breve. También quería conectar con Frea, pero ella estaba en medio del grupo, así que preferí no acercarme.

• Después me quedé sentada un rato más con ellos y, finalmente, me fui.

• A las mamás y a sus crías les estaban cortando las uñas ese día, así que no estuve con ellas.
