Let go of the agenda and allow things to happen naturally, introducing exercises only when the moment seems right.

I felt a bit of distance from the herd after spending much less time with them, but I also felt a sense of closeness; it was as if everything we have built together over time was still there, yet I realized that when we spend less time together, that feeling of distance can naturally arise. Because they are herd animals, it feels as though they are showing me that relationships need continuity—they need to be lived and nurtured. Spending time together is an important part of nourishing the bond. At the same time, the feeling of distance does not always describe the relationship itself; sometimes it reflects the place from which I am experiencing it. A sense of belonging is also shaped by the way I arrive at the encounter. If I approach them believing that I no longer belong as I once did, I will likely experience the relationship from that perspective. I want to remember to reconnect with them from the part of me that used to be more present and still wants to be, understanding that it is natural to feel a greater sense of distance and for the relationship to take on a different shape when we spend less time together. But my place is still mine. The story we have built together remains, and that does not change simply because we now spend less time together. We just need to give ourselves the time to adapt to this new way of meeting one another.
That day was mostly about spending time with the heard during their feeding times. When I arrived in the morning, they were having their "breakfast," and when I was with them again in the afternoon, it was already time for their "dinner."
Before the food arrived, I sat on a log some distance away from where they were. A few of them looked at me, but neither they nor I went over to greet each other. Just when I thought about doing it, the food arrived. So I went to sit closer to where they were eating. There was a tall tree trunk that allowed me to look down and watch all of them while they ate. Mary was the one closest to me. They seemed comfortable with my presence and would occasionally glance over at me to check where I was. At one point, Mary made some froms, as if she were complaining about something. I stayed there with them for a while.
A little later, I had the idea of going over to greet them while they were eating. I managed to do it with Mary and Flash, but they seemed annoyed, so I don't think it was a good idea. I walked away and let them finish their meal in peace.
