GOAL

• Keep practicing introducing the empty bucket,  the "Hello" ritual and if they approach on their own, practice the entry point of connection.

OBJETIVO

• Seguir practicando introducir el canasto vacío, el ritual del "Hola" y si se acercan por sí mismos, practicar el punto de entrada de la conexión.

LESSON

• I noticed a setback in our bond and used the exercises of moving them with the stick and greeting them as tools to remind them of the implicit agreement of that bond.

APRENDIZAJE

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

• That day, when I arrived, they kind of came toward me, but I think they thought I was going to give them something or take them somewhere. Frea approached, and while she was coming closer, I asked her to stop, and she did. Then I greeted her, stepped away, and left her there. She stayed looking for a while, seemingly not understanding. Later, I went to greet Flash, who was further back; we greeted each other, and the same happened with the others. I noticed they were somewhat different, between themselves and with me. When I went to greet Amir, he walked toward me, we greeted each other, and then Luna moved him and bit him on his hindquarters. It was as if she were scolding him for greeting me—I didn’t understand it. They were more moving away from me that day, so I resumed the exercise of moving them with the reed. Everyone responded well. There was only one moment when I tried to move Frea away from the fence because a section had fallen, and she didn’t responded. She seemed to be calling the neighboring horses, who weren’t there that day. I tried to comfort her for a while, then tried to move her again, but she refused, so I left her.

• Later, I tried to resume the empty bucket exercise, but they didn’t get it. I think Mary looked at it from a distance and hesitated, but didn’t come over. Maybe she remembered last time when she ran off galloping. So I didn’t stay much longer with them that day; it was very hot.

• Then I spent some time with the mares and their foals. I tried to move them with the reed outside the round pen so I could work with them there, but none of them responded to my request. Eventually, I had help to lead them to the adjacent space, and we stayed there for a while, but it wasn’t enough to really connect. I felt that we’ve lost our connection for some time now and haven’t been able to regain it, which will require more time and dedication.

DESTACADOS DE LA EXPERIENCIA

• Ese día, cuando llegué, como que vinieron hacia mí, pero creo que pensaban que les iba a dar algo o a llevarlos a algún lugar. Frea se acercó y, mientras lo hacía, le pedí que parara, y ella se detuvo. Luego la saludé, salí y la dejé ahí. Ella quedó mirando un rato, sin parecer entenderlo. Después, fue a saludar a Flash, que estaba más atrás; nos saludamos y lo mismo pasó con todos los demás. Los noté un poco distintos, entre ellos y conmigo. Cuando fue a saludar a Amir, él vino caminando en mi dirección, nos saludamos, y luego Luna lo movió y lo mordió en su trasero. Fue como si lo estuviera reprendiendo por saludarme; no lo entendí. Por lo general, más bien querían alejarse de mí, así que retomé el ejercicio de moverlos con el bastón. Todos respondieron bien. Solo hubo un momento en que intenté mover a Frea de la cerca, pues había una parte caída, y ella no me hizo caso. Parecía estar llamando a los caballos vecinos, que no estaban ese día. Intenté consolarla un rato y luego intenté moverla de nuevo, pero no quiso, así que la dejé.

• Más tarde, intenté retomar el ejercicio del canasto vacío, pero ellos no lo entendieron. Creo que Mary lo miró de lejos y dudó, pero no se acercó. Tal vez aprendió de la última vez que salió galopando. Así que no me quedé mucho más tiempo con ellos ese día; hacía mucho calor.

• Luego fui a estar un rato con las mamás y sus hijas. Intenté moverlas con el bastón fuera del corral redondo, para poder trabajar con ellas, pero ninguna aceptó mi pedido de moverse. Finalmente, tuve ayuda para llevarlas al espacio contiguo, y nos quedamos un rato ahí, pero no fue suficiente para lograr conectar con ellas. Sentí que hemos perdido la conexión desde hace un tiempo y no hemos podido retomarla, lo que requiere más tiempo y dedicación.
