Next Meeting: Sat. 11/14 from 2-3:30pm at Walker Library
Hornig Tenants United (HTU) was created during and out of Operation Metro Surge, in early 2026. Operation Metro Surge was a flashpoint, a time in which the contradictions of capitalism are made more apparent. The residents of Minneapolis saw that the city, state, and federal governments chose to protect ICE instead of its residents. Hornig tenants chose address Hornig Management as a collective rather than individual renters for their lack of safety precautions for tenants, and a restrictive "no sign" policy that was enforced in response to tenants across Minneapolis putting "ICE OUT" signs in their windows.
It was the people who organized with their neighbors who protected one another. This isn't the first time Hornig residents have stood together and it won't be the last.
HTU has the opportunity to build on the connections we've made to create community and provide lasting support to our neighbors across Hornig properties. We welcome all residents!
