Using a special technique, you can create postcards that feature beautiful gold leaf designs. The gold patterns come to life right on your postcard. It’s very simple, and even children can participate.
You’ll be able to choose your favorite design on the day of the workshop.

How it works:
-Pick your postcard design
-Apply the gold leaf

Decorate your own ceramic guardian dog (Komainu) figurine with gold leaf. Komainu are not just adorable they’re also symbols of protection, believed to guard their owners from misfortune. Place your finished piece in your entryway and you'll be greeted by its delightful gaze every day.
The figurines you’ll use are crafted by Master Koen Shimada, a renowned Kyoto doll artist known for collaborations with brands like Starbucks and Louis Vuitton. The gold leaf is provided by a Kyoto company with 300 years of history.
What you’ll experience:
You’ll get hands-on with “Gosho dolls,” a traditional Kyoto craft that has continued for over 700 years. You’ll work with ultra-thin gold leaf reputedly the world’s thinnest and discover its unique qualities. Gold leaf flakes will be used for the decoration, and any leftovers are yours to take home.
