Horikin is a company in Kyoto with more than 300 year history of producing and selling metallic leaf and powders. We began manufacturing gold leaf in the Edo period, with official permission from the Tokugawa shogunate. Our gold leaf has been used by renowned artists and craftsmen throughout Japan.

Today, we continue to provide gold leaf with the same lasting brilliance. The gold powder used in today’s popular “kintsugi” repair technique is made from our gold leaf, and Horikin’s gold powder is now used by people all over the world.
