The Hoquiam Lions Club puts on a Salmon Dinner every year on the day of Loggers' Playday at the old Washington Elementary School starting at 2:00 pm. For $20 ($15 for youth) you receive a plate with salmon, coleslaw, a baked potato, roll, a juice and an ice cream. Cash and card are accepted at the door.

Hoquiam Loggers' Playday Salmon Feed

• Thanks to the generosity of Mike Lytle he often is able to get salmon donated for the event helping turn a big profit!

• A hardworking crew of volunteers headed up by the Wayman family help make sure everyone gets their food quickly and is able to enjoy it nice and hot!

The Rain Derby 

• Tickets are available from Lions Club Members!

Fireworks Stand in the Swanson's parking lot

• All of the money raised is donated to scholarships for Hoquiam students.

• Under the leadership of Head Coach Jeremy McMillan, the Hoquiam High School football team donates their time to set up and take down the stand.

• Current scholarship recipients work at least one shift as a thank to to the club for helping donate to their education.  

Philanthropy 

• In previous years the Lions Club has even sold buttons at the gate of Loggers' Playday!

• Built a place to eat at the Adams Street park (Old Cannary park).

• Paid for multiple benches to be built in downtown Hoquiam for a place to rest.  

• The Lions Club donates to 5 scholarships a year two, two year academic scholarships and one, one year vocational scholarship.
