Lawn Aeration Services – What You Need to Know
We perform lawn aeration during April, May, and June, with limited availability again in early September for lawns that truly need additional treatment.
Is lawn aeration necessary?
Almost all lawns benefit from aeration—and a great lawn requires it. Lawns with heavy foot traffic, excessive thatch (over 1 inch), or compacted/heavy soil benefit the most.
What happens if you don’t aerate your lawn?
Without aeration, you may start to notice:
Shallow root growth, causing grass to dry out faster
Increased susceptibility to disease
Visible footprints after walking across the lawn
Thatch buildup (a layer of dead grass and organic matter)
Why is aeration important?
Aeration relieves soil compaction by creating small holes in the ground. This allows:
Air, water, and nutrients to reach the root system
Stronger, deeper root growth
Better tolerance to heat and drought
Healthier, thicker, greener turf
One of the most common things we hear is:
“I water, mow, and fertilize sometimes.”
Unfortunately, that’s not enough to maintain a healthy lawn long-term.
Your lawn needs consistent, proper care—just like your home. Without it, it will gradually decline.
To keep your lawn looking its best year after year:
✔️ Mow consistently
Cut regularly and at the proper height for the season
✔️ Water correctly
Deep watering 1–2 times per week, preferably in the early morning
✔️ Aerate annually
Relieve compaction and promote root growth
✔️ Top dress yearly
Improve soil quality and level the lawn
✔️ Soil testing
Test yearly and apply lime, sulfur, or other amendments as needed
✔️ Fertilization & Weed Control Program
A structured program that includes:
Fertilization
Weed control
Insect control
Disease prevention and treatment
