ACT & SAT Information

What is the SAT and ACT?

The SAT is a standardized test and college entrance exam that measures a student's skills in three core areas: Evidence-Based Reading, and Writing, and Math. There is also an optional 50 minute essay. Scores range from 400-1600.

The ACT is a standardized test and college entrance exam that measures a student's skills in four core areas: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Scores range from 1-36.

Fee waivers: You are eligible for up to two ACT fee waivers and two SAT fee waivers if you are on Free or Reduced Lunch. You must reapply through Child Nutrition each year. Click here to apply for Free or Reduced Lunch.

You can pick up the fee waivers in Student Services from Ms. Junco. Make sure you show her your Free or Reduced Lunch letter. If you need a copy of this letter contact Child Nutrition at 980-343-6041 or email them at lunch@cms.k12.nc.us for assistance.
