Flood-Affected Children
Flood-Affected Children
Children are increasingly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, particularly floods, which disrupt their lives in profound ways. A child born in 2020 is expected to experience 2.8 times as many river floods as someone born in 1960. In Pakistan, recent floods have led to a 45% increase in hunger, exacerbating the challenges faced by children. It is estimated that half a billion children live in flood-prone areas.
Save the Children is dedicated to provide safety and hope for children impacted by extreme flooding. They focus on providing immediate relief such as clean water, food, and shelter, and also help with long-term recovery efforts in education and infrastructure to strengthen resilience against future floods.
