According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 400 000 children and teenagers aged 0-19 develop cancer every year. Cancer may be a leading cause of death for children and teens, but it does not mean that no one can survive the disease.

The American Cancer Society has stated that 85% of children with cancer now survive 5 years or more. Nora of Indianapolis and Jimi Tucker from the USA are two individuals who were diagnosed with childhood cancer but have survived.
