Abdulkadir obtained his B.Sc. Chemistry at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He joined Dr. Khalid’s lab since 2014 during his M.S. thesis, where he worked on heterogeneous catalysis in microcapillary reactor and later worked on the synthesis of modified mesoporous supported Ni(Co)Mo-S catalysts for the hydrotreating of transportation fuel in his Ph.D. dissertation. He also specializes in material functionalization for numerous application spanning from extraction of contaminants in water to adsorption of refractory sulfur compounds in model fuel.

Ismail Abdulazeez, obtained his Ph.D from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals under the supervision of Prof. Mazen Khaled where he worked on the atomistic level simulations of the underlying mechanisms of inhibition of mild steel corrosion by organic corrosion inhibitors. He also specializes in the synthesis of high efficiency polymers for inhibition of corrosion under extreme CO2 and H2S conditions, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy and the development of new surface coatings to combat biofouling of desalination membranes. He joined Dr. Khalid’s lab in September 2019.
