As a digital media artist, the concept of NFTs developed through digital technology serves as the most important backdrop for my work. Fundamentally, an NFT is a tool that allows the concrete and simple representation of tangible value as a digital asset. First, we need to consider the nature of tangible value. This value can be physical or abstract, such as copyright. In other words, these are already recognized as tangible values ​​in the current era. However, given this status, it was difficult to realistically define the value of more complex concepts or unique elements into concrete terms. Yet, the fact remains that we can now assign value by utilizing the digital concept of NFTs. I would like to describe this as a crucial moment that speaks to a shift in the times.

As an artist constantly contemplating the values ​​of the world, I am convinced that digital technology serves as a medium that further enhances human capabilities, and I consider the functionality of NFTs to be the most critical core element. Therefore, I produce works that aim to continuously develop special features utilizing NFTs, establish them as a culture of various values, and demonstrate public benefit. For instance, if one intends to improve the global environment, a project must be operated, which inevitably requires funding. Thus, to raise capital, I issue NFTs like gift certificates utilizing the value of artworks. By leveraging the fundraising period as a promotional performance for the project, I secure greater public empathy while simultaneously increasing the sales probability of the original artwork—the tangible entity behind the NFT—thereby achieving the objective. Furthermore, this creates a situation where a culture of rewarding donors with dividends upon the achievement of the fundraising goal can be implemented. Through this, I am depicting the existence and management of funds—the formula that underlies the beginning and end of any project—as a conceptual painting using digital media.
