Question: What is strategic market planning? What inspired you to enter intoStrategic Planning with expertise in educational systems?
Strategic market planning is a discipline that focuses on bringing new products and services to a specified audience. It is a way to communicate and engage with a specific group of clients, consumers or interested parties with respect to a marketable means for participation or bran recognition with a certain product. Realizing over the years that educational program offerings have to adapt to modern pressures, it became imperative to connect with the prospective learners. I have always used a moniker“get behind the eyes of the learners” and see and gear what the audience is experiencing. Once you have completed your analysis then and only then you may propose a way forward.
The inspiration is directly related to the powerful result that one can achieve through this process. The linkage of valuable learning to a specific audience and seeing the results is quite infectious as one continues the process of improvement. This is technique that is needed and requires to build the workforce of the future. Programs that match up with sector and industry requests in an everchanging environment allows for the meeting of demand.
Question: Since how long, you have been into this Strategic Planning and in which cities you have been associated for administration, entrepreneurship, teaching, research, commercial and training programs?
I have been engaged in strategic planning directly for over 30 years. The planning has been associated with many different sectors (Post secondary education, Hospital, Health agency, Business and Research). The strategic planning has had a global reach. The cities that I have been associated with are as follows: Winnipeg, Toronto, Oxford, Suzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Kingston Jamaica and Barbados.
Question: What are your future plans for administration, entrepreneurship, teaching, research and training programs in Strategic Planning&corporate strategy?
The future plans for administration, entrepreneurship , teaching research and training revolve around two key themes. Growth and impact will be used as a filter by which we in the College system will commit to projects. There is an art, science and philosophy to the actions that we will take on our road to fulfilling our strategy 2026 and get to our destination of Vision 2030. We do understand that along the way there will be curveballs and distractions and even action taken by government that are beyond our control. Because of the nature of the work and the many permutations and combinations of the external environment, we will underlay our thinking with a mentality of resilience. The ability to flex and be dynamic in these times is paramount. We recognize and acknowledge that static systems so rooted in historical legacy will not survive in the future. Training programs that infuse resiliency and sustainability in their design will thrive and be the best practice to ensuring growth and impact.
Question: Please introduce yourself and How do you want to be remembered / known in world?
Professionally I am a senior academic officer with over 35 years of teaching, administration, clinical, research, consulting, management and leadership skills. I am a strategic planner with expertise in educational systems and an expertise in developing curriculum and programming.
Over the years I have developed a diverse range of strategic market planning, negotiation, communications, human resources, and budget administration skills. Planned, organized and presented numerous program initiatives to administrators, board of directors, national and regional government agencies, academic (University and College educational leaders), medical specialists, hospital staff and volunteer groups.
I have provided focused entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, conceptualization, and direction with clear and balanced approaches to overall corporate strategy. As a skilled director, manager and communicator with proactive approaches to problem resolution, and a clear sensitivity to client, staff, student and organizational needs.
In terms of education, I have sat on expert advisory panels with respect to basic science medical education (Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Public Health). I have helped move the concept of interprofessional education in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
As a Dean, Vice President Academic and Provost I am engaged in Transforming students lives at our College. Making sure Students have a superior education to meet industry requirements and needs is paramount in my work.
Question: What kind of businesses can be started in strategic and functional planning? What minimum infrastructure would it need?
Any business can be started in strategic and functional planning. The primary requisite is that there is a vision, mission and an action plan. Minimal infrastructure is required as we have learnt from todays examples. Some of these examples are Uber not owning a single taxi and BnB not owning a single hotel. The key to success is marrying the vision with the action. No well thought out idea would fail if there is commitment by the owners to be flexible to course correct as the business progresses.
Question: How did you revolutionize educational systems through innovations in teaching, administration, clinical, research, consulting, management and leadership skills?
My involvement in shaping a teaching and learning exchange (TLX) helped to innovate the practices as they related to teaching, administration, clinical, research consulting and leadership areas. The TLX serves as a community builder such that all College staff and faculty can engage in programming, training and community building. It serves as a meeting hub, where individuals may express their ideas and gain traction with others interested in their ideation of a program or initiative.
The true revolution came from instilling trust in a process and building a highly visible product that was inclusive for all College members. This is a meeting place where titles don’t matter and that you can enlist students, support staff, faculty and administrators in very exciting and transforming projects.
Question: What are your recommendations to improve entrepreneurial leadership for more creativity, applications and opportunities?
My recommendations for improving entrepreneurial leadership, creativity, applications and opportunities can be achieved through a few distinctive educational techniques. The first technique implies an inherent rule that everyone has a voice at the table. By utilizing the technique of appreciative inquiry everyone will feel part of the discussion because there are no judgements made at the time of revelation.
A second technique used is the charette. Groups of people/ stakeholders come together and are facilitated through guided discussions and work together in maturing the concept. A charrette is a creative working session that condenses the design and ideation process to foster creativity through collaboration. Charrettes create a framework for design that encourages participants to step outside their comfort zones, con-sider new perspectives and generate creative results. Over a period of brain-storming, discussion and consultation, participants create a broad range of ideas around a central theme or objective. Because participants are generally diverse, representing users and stakeholders, the results are practical and meet objectives comprehensively.This technique is a powerful one in leading to different solutions and exploring the issues by looking at different paradigms.
Finally all the discussions and formulation of the ideas from concept and ideation to action must be convened through an interprofessional lens. Everyone participating in the new programs or leadership onboarding must see how their roles contribute to the overall well being of the newly formed initiative.
Question: What is Anatomy ? What are the major branches in Anatomy?

Question: What are your recommendations on International strategy on China to excel in academic enterprise, Research, Work Integrated Learning , Teaching and Learning Exchange ?
A International strategy with China would best be serves as an interinstitutional agreement between two agencies, two postsecondary institutions of higher learning, two hospitals, two research institutes. All these diad relationships would serve the work well in that it would bring together academics, people in field, educators and government officials.
Corresponding through articulation agreements would set out the terms of engagement and forge the relationship in achieving the prescribed well articulated goals of both parties.
A quarterly review is essential to maintain the focus and a working dashboard of events would help all parties remain true to the deadlines. In each of the above mentioned relationships there must be transmission and translation of the work to the general public, funders and industries involved. Hopefully government officials would recognize the need for collaboration and support the initiatives. This model could be replicated to other countries as relationships grows between Canada and China.
Question: How can universities produce revolutionary PhD and Post Doc thesis and dissertations on Anatomy? What are your recommendations to improve the academic standards?
In order to produce revolutionary PhD and post FOC thesis as it relates to Anatomy it is important to define the essential of the work with an applicable message. The work should focus on basic knowledge thoroughly and then be contextualized with a clinical application. The joining forces of basic science and applicable work integrated learning is essential in linking ultimately funders and future value propositions for the work. To illustrate a case, it would be interesting to learn about the basic science research around muscular dystrophy and then link this to social determinants of health and the healthcare providers who render services to the client. There are huge advantages to this type of research. I believe findings in this research will beget other funding agencies to carry on the work. This is applicable to all fields of anatomy. A second area of revolutionizing the work is the link between the anatomy basic medical science and surgeons. From my experience I was involved in many discussions and lectures where I was presenting anatomical correlates to surgeons. The discussions were very informative and there was a cross pollination of ideas based on the findings and discussions. One example of this is when, world renown neurosurgeon Dr Dwight Parkinson talking about the cavernous sinus wanting to rename the structure the lateral sellar compartment. This was really a combined effort between anatomists and a surgeon.
Question: What are your views on Exploring Virtual Reality And Augmented Reality In Teaching Human Anatomy?
The teaching of Human Anatomy has undergone significant changes in the last twenty years. The introduction of new technologies to better enable students understanding of a complex 3-dimensional subject has reached unprecendented levels. Intuitively the results seem that the technology is in service of androgogy. Still there is some unrest and debate amongst the classical anatomists.There are still some educators who cannot accept different modes of delivery that are not classical in nature. Important to bring together the teaching community to discuss and keep the 21st century learner front and centre in the debate. It is through open dialogue and standardization of the learning outcomes through various medium that a consensus will be reached.
If one keeps the student’s needs at the centre of the conversation. One will realize that the electronic medium is a safe way to teach, practice and remediate. Cadaveric labs are not accessible 24/7 but he electronic models and tutorials are. Please note that virtual reality and augmented reality are not to replace prosected material or dissection but rather augment and reinforce the learning. A true blended approach is necessary. I once wrote that the most valuable lesson I learnt from dissection was the moments I spent dissecting the cadaver and for the first time confronting my mortality. No game can achieve this feeling.
Question: How ethanol and Caffeine affect embryo development?
Many years ago, I was researched the affects of caffeine and alcohol on rat embryogenesis. The study showed the following results: developmental defects occurred in the caudal neural tube, hindbrain, midbrain and forebrain.the neural folds failed to fuse in a number of embryos with caudal neural tube defects resulting in open posterior neuropores. In the case of hindbrain development, some embryos displayed open anterior neuropores. Midbrain development was represented in the form of failure of the mesencephalic folds to fuse whilst the forebrain often showed developmental delay with the telencephalic evaginations often absent.
Cardiovascular developed was altered as well. The cardiac tube or heart was not yet fully differentiated into the bulbis cordis, atrium commune and ventriculus communis.
With respect to craniofacial features, the branchial bars were less discernable. Many embryos displayed facial dysmorphology somewhat characteristic of infant fetal alcohol syndrome. The alcohol induced facial dysmorphology may have been potentiated by the administration of caffeine resulting in developmental delay in skeletalogenesis.
Question: What are your Business planning in Public Health & Wellness Options?
With respect to business planning as it relates to public health and wellness options it is imperative to begin with establishing key strategic initiatives. My involvement with these two areas involved the gathering of individuals to define the key strategic objectives. The key initiatives were: 1. Building a high-performing organization. 2.Leverage the state of technology. 3. Build a sustainable financial and resource model. 4. Invest in high performing partnerships. 5. Leadership of DEI and Indigenous initiatives 6. Strategic talent management 7. Change management.
Each one of these strategic objectives was measured against industry metrics and followed up with action statements. End result was a well informed organization committed to achieving a difference in the general well being of the population.
Question: How Education Curriculum can attract Industry Sponsorship?
In the Collegepost secondary world there is a real push towards fashioning curriculum to industriesneeds.The establishment of program advisory committees (PAC) ensure the application of curriculum to further train the future workforce in the most authentic, current and relevant milieu. The benefits of the PAC focuses around the consistency and relevance of the educational outcomes of the program. The PAC generally consists of a cross-section of persons external to the College who have direct interest in and a diversity of experience and expertisethe particular occupational area or discipline addressed by the program. Members of the PACdo not represent their own organization and do not receive remuneration for their participation.
The criteria for the Program Advisory Committee membership arequite strict and willreflect the diversity of the demographics of the industry and the diversity of the nature of the community in which the College operates, and will be composed of persons with diverse skills, experience, backgrounds and perspectives.
The end result of the establishment of a PAC for a program is the quality control aspect of the learning experience. Students can be rest assured that they are receiving a quality education. They will experience connections to industry and will find gainful experience. For Industry the added advantage is that they will be guaranteed graduates who can very easily move into employment and help the companies achieve their goals.
Question: What are your recommendations to write a world class research article in Anatomy ? What essential components and factors must be there?
In order to write a world class research article there are a few vital rules to follow. The researcher must ask themselves some key questions. First question: is the research paper complete? Second question: Can the audience follow and does it make sense. Third question: is it engaging? and finally are the conclusions in line with the depth and analysis of the paper.
In order to ensure that the above questions can be answered, there needs to be an overall comprehensiveness to the research and the creation of a really highly defined question that one is seeking to answer.
Mechanics of the paper are essential to its success as well. It must be written in accordance to the rules of the journal. Proper formatting, illustrations and table configurations must adhere to the standards. Finally, the paper should leave one to question what is next.
Question: What are your recommendations to establish a world class research institute for Anatomy ?
The world class research institute for Anatomy Institute would be focussed on developing young researchers and anatomist with their career aspirations. It would engage industry, hospitals, tertiary care centres and post secondary educational institutions in order to identify real world issues and create research platforms to solve them. Applied solutions would be created and would help to secure more funding for future research endeavours. It would through the research conducted create new products and services that would expand the knowledge and develop future researchers. By adopting a "smart sustainability" approach that combines traditional wisdom and digital transformation the institute would be able to establisha mentoring forum so that legacy knowledge is not lost but rather passed on to the new generation of researchers and learners.
The Anatomy research Institute would foster talent development, helping graduates transition to work while also allowing practicing professionals to gain the new skills needed to build a sustainable future. Working in interdisciplinary teams coached by the world's leading innovators and scholars, innovative ideas would be turned into practical realities through the Institutes development process.
The Institute would maintain a historical museum and library that outlines the history of anatomy through the ages. The institute would be on the cutting edge of publishing papers, books and videos and distribute this educational collateral worldwide.
Question: What are your recommendations to improve employment and scope in Anatomy ?
In order to improve employment and scope in Anatomy one must be able to think out of the box and apply a lateral thinking cap. It is very easy to think of the natural affinity of anatomy graduates to teach in post secondary institutions. Today, the opportunities are plentiful. By the creation of microcertificates of specialty, anatomy graduates may work as teachers, researchers, clinical case coordinators and industry experts. One example is the need for ergonomists who have a solid in anatomy such that they may be the next cadre of experts helping to design ergonomic office furniture, airline seats, computer stations and event venue access aids.
Anatomy is a highly transferable skill. It can be utilized in theatre, sports, industry, veterinary and the automotive sector. Need not think of anatomy graduates as only tutors in the dissection lab or teachers in the classroom.
Question: Would you start a campaign to request government to offer free of cost internet to all people of your country as fundamental right, because it plays a significant role in education, awareness, implementation of government policies and economic development of country
As a college administrator I see first hand how important the internet is to the learning process. I would be an advocate for free access to the internet. If this could not be afforded than a really reduced rate of charge for usage would be a good start. I have personally seen students make choices between buying lunch, travelling on subway or accessing internet for their studies. I do believe the economics of providing the internet free of charge would be most beneficial for the viability of the community and country and if longitudinal studies would be done, there would be a huge return on the investment.
Question: What are your recommendations to authors, who are writing Books on Anatomy for more creativity and understanding of the subject?
I have always thought that the engagement of the audience towards reading is by use of teasers throughout the book. It is important to sleuth through the material and let it read like a story. Historical accounts are always very interesting and how things evolved through history.
Another important aspect to anatomy books is the quality of the pictures and photos. Having real prosected material on display is always beneficial as compared to artist renderings. As a student I found Netters atlas very intriguing, but it missed the mark on displaying real life diagrams of human dissection.
Today it is imperative to combine the writings with a technological accent. Travelling through a guided tour of the body narrated by an expert would be helpful in really emphasizing the topographical features of anatomy. The coupling of physiology with the anatomical specimen is also very important.
Question: What according to you are the Top 5 major challenges (research problems) which need to be resolved urgently by world’s scientists in the area of Anatomy ?
5 top major research problems that need to be solved are:
1) the teaching of anatomy in the 21st century-Technology in service to pedagogy
2) more research on the complexity of the brain. Identifying ways to regenerate brain tissue and
Network transmissions.
3) functional relationship between anatomical structures and their distinctive functions
4) longitudinal studies vis a vis anatomical structure deficit and exposure to Covid
5) neurodegerative disease and ways in which we may use stem cells for repair and regeneration
Question: What are your recommendations to improve standards of Conferences in Education Policies and Funding Research Projects? How can they be brainstorming and more creative?
Improving standards are a sign of the maturation process with respect to education policies and funding research projects. A detailed quality assurance program needs to ne implemented with regular reviews in order to revisit policies and procedures and make them relevant to todays actions. In order to bring about a paradigm shift, it is imperative that we would start with the end in mind. In other fields this is called reverse engineering. By enlisting experts in the field coupled with new graduates the brainstorming and creativity could be electrifying.
Question: Which major challenges do you see to establish Canada as world leader in Education & Entrepreneurship ?
Today, there are many challenges in establishing Canada as a world leader in education and entrepreneurship. Two of the most obvious challenges are funding and brain drain. The two challenges are interconnected. Canada is not spending enough in grants and scholarships to seed the new ideas and grow its base. In addition to not funding enough there are attractions in other countries that lure our best and brightest away from Canada.
Governments cannot fund everything and therefore they will require help from the private sector. There has been many examples of this coshared responsibility in matching dollars that solve the funding issue. In order to stop the brain drain there needs to be incentives used to limit the exodus of our best.
Question: Any other thing, you would like to share with World?
I would like to share with everyone that I am passionate about education. I do believe it is important and vital for a safer more productive world. It could also some some of the worlds disparities. I have over the years taught more than 5,000 students in the field of anatomy and have been responsible directly or indirectly in their success as experts in the field.
I owe a lot of my knowledge to,the great mentorship I received along the way. I was mentored by Dr TVN Persaud, Dr Dwight Parkinson, Dr John Duckworth and others. My alma mater the University of Manitoba department of Anatomy was a beacon for Anatomy training. Dr C.B. Grant, Dr Mclaren Thompson, and Dr Keith Moore were all instrumental in raising the bar for anatomy education. I have been truly blessed to be the recipient of all of these pioneers works.
