My research is firmly situated in applied microeconomics, with a special focus on international trade, innovation, and policy.  

My work combines theoretical models and empirical analysis to explore the nexus between innovation, exports, export quality, and the causal effect of different policies on these two aspects. My doctoral thesis explores Essays on International Trade and Innovation. I use data at different levels to examine the relationship between innovation and export quality, specifically export quality and patent intensity: a bidirectional relationship under institutional constraints, and the causal effects of policies on firms' innovation.
