Most services are sliding scale.
Generally speaking, I prefer to exchange "an hour for an hour" wherever possible--whether that's an hour's wage or an hour's services. For particular projects, it may be beneficial to both of us to arrange a flat per-project fee. In all circumstances, tiered pricing will apply based on annual operating income.
Most services are custom-built.
Chances are good that I'll want to work with the people involved in your issue to craft materials that will help you and/or your team navigate the road ahead with as much fine-tuned skill-building practice as possible. Some types of support I can offer include:
"Ask A Trans Person," and other educational programs: I have developed and delivered accredited CLEs for H&D and Ethics credits in Maine, and am happy to work with your team, organization, problem employees, or difficult family members on how to have better interactions with the trans people in their lives. I have also delivered workshops on better interpersonal consent practices disguised as a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I am happy to work with you to build a pathway to understanding for the people you need to get there.
Areas of particular expertise include LGBTQ+ terminology and cultural competency, sexual health, body positivity, restorative justice, trauma-informed relationship skills, and best practices for building a culture of liberation and consent in a variety of forums and format. I've also sat on a number of panels to represent and discuss the interests of queer and trans people, survivors of violent crime, and sex workers.
If your organization is seeking a trainer, if you're booking a speaker or assembling a panel for a CLE, or if you could use some 1-to-1 consultation and/or community resources on any of these, please reach out for a quote! Even if I don't personally have the information you need, chances are good that I can get you to the right place.
Of Counsel/Second Chair/Document Review Services: Are you a local attorney who needs a little backup? Whether it's second-chairing a larger case, advising on specific subject matter expertise, or whittling down a massive pile of documents to a more manageable summary, I'm happy to help. I have helped other Southern Maine attorneys with discovery review, motion drafting, research, court appearance coverage, and more. I am especially good for deep research dives into jury pools, big boxes of DHHS records, and crafting sympathetic narratives.
Advocacy/Campaign Strategy/Organizing/Strategic Communications/Coalition Building: When the right message is delivered to the right person by the right messenger, all things become possible. I delight in finding points of leverage, identifying and building relationships with coalition partners, and developing values-aligned messaging to ensure what you need to say reaches the right audience.
Audio/Video Editing/Event Planning/Creative Projects: If you need a little sound or video editing, artistic visioning, or help executing your next extravagant endeavor, I'll be glad to help your dream come to life. Whether it's managing day-of logistics so you can enjoy your event or sourcing bulk glitter for "art reasons" that you yourself may not even yet fully understand, I can probably help you figure it out.
Other stuff: I've been some places and seen some things and I still believe everyone does the best they are able with the resources they have at any given moment. Sometimes we all need backup. If you have support or consulting needs not listed here that you think I might be able to help with, please reach out for a quote.
