In the beginning, the ladies' organization was known as Mary Martha Guild. It was led by Alice Loesch, Margaret Hiethold, and several others. During their tenure, the ladies met and made quilts and cooked apple butter in a big kettle, canned it, and sold it as a fundraiser. Later, Joan Reeder led the organization, then Liz Short and Ellen Allen.
Currently, the ladies continue to sew twice a month, making quilts for newlyweds in the congregation and for local charities. They have made donations of quilts to support St. Jude's Hospital, Pregnancy Resource Center, Agape House, Orphan Train, and others. Also, they make a financial contribution to local charities every Christmas. These funds are earned at their local rummage and bake sale in the Spring and a craft and bake sale in the Fall.
Christian Soldiers, the men's group, started as part of the Lutheran Laymen's League. As church members deceased over the years, it was no longer able to support the League and was dropped.
Over time, the church members decided it needed to form the men's worship groups again and thus named themselves Christian Soldiers. The men came together for bible study, breakfast, and to help church members in need.
As time went on, they decided to expand their services to the community as part of evangelism and to assist those in need. The Christian Soldiers have since helped many church members and community members and have expanded the reach of the church in their local area. They also do regular maintenance chores needed around the church.
