OBOB at Holt Elementary
Holt Elementary is proud to be a participating school in OBOB. Teams consist of four (4) students, 3rd to 5th grade and are organized by the students themselves. Each team member is responsible to read at least four (4) of the 16 books on the Title list and be the main person to answer those questions during competition.
Team practices with Mr. Cortez starts November 18 during the school.
School-wide Battles
Held in January & February and every team will go against each other at least once, depending on the number of teams. Pool play and bracket play/knock-out rounds is the typical format.
If there are a large number of teams, total points (not wins) may determine our school winners and who will move on to the Regional tournament bracket.
Volunteers
We will need need several volunteers willing to help make the school battles possible. 2-3 volunteers are needed for each battle and we tend to run 2-3 battles at a time. That's 6-10 volunteers for 1 hour, 2-3 days a week, for 4-6 weeks. These volunteers must have an approved 4J background check on file at the Holt Office, as battles take place during the school day.
