I was invited to be on the Best Practices Sub-Committee for The University of Iowa's Accessibility and Action Team. This task force is comprised of faculty and staff and requested student representation that could advise on accessibility and diversity issues.
I was selected to participate in the reviewing and awarding of grants and funding for graduate and professional students.
I was invited to be on the board by The Graduate and Professional Student Government. Our committee promotes diversity, equity and inclusion on campus by holding events and working closely with faculty and administration on campus.
I serve on the Title IX Sub-Committee for the Council on the Status of Women. In this capacity we focus on how sexual harrassment impacts women in academia and strive for gender equality on campus.
I was selected to serve on the board for The University of Iowa's Counselling Services. In this capacity I volunteer my time to take part in events to promote the office to students on campus, partake in the mental health podcast and assist with the suicide prevention scheme. I also partake in hiring committees as a DEI expert.
I liaised with both faculty and graduate students to ensure optimal communication, resolve any issues and to help maintain a professional and friendly environment for all.
I organised biweekly graduate student presentations in an informal atmosphere where graduate students could present their research and receive valuable feedback in a low-pressure environment.
I provided social media support for COGS focusing my attention on outreach, marketing and recruiting efforts.
I currently control the social media accounts for the All of Us Community Engagement Network and keep track of the analytics for numerous library events. I assist my immediate boss in numerous administrative and creative tasks such as coordinating an online infrastructure retreat in Iowa City and coming up with potential library events which would be beneficial to their communities.
I worked for the above department calling alumni etc. raising money for The University of Glasgow. I was awarded Top Salesperson numerous times and was entrusted with calling the big donors in North America.
I was selected to attend this event in Glasgow, Scotland. It was a week-long experiential programme where I met with business leaders from a range of backgrounds and cultures and had the opportunity to develop my leadership and communication skills in a diverse environment.
I have volunteered as an ambassador for The British Brain and Spine Foundation since 2014. I was diagnosed with Arnold Chiari Malformation Type 1 during my undergraduate degree and I have presented on living with a disability and written an article for the charity. I also am the admin of the charity's facebook support group which has over 2,000 members.
