Indoor Walking Program Course Fee- One time fee of $10 for key card
If you were a walker last year, once you sign up, your card will be reactivated. If you no longer have your card, you will have to pay for a new card.
The program is held at Harold O. Brumsted Elementary School (173 Canada Street, Holland, NY). H.O.B Elementary will open for the walking program from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, during the months of October to May.
For the safety of all participants, students, and employees in the building, we appreciate your cooperation in the following program guidelines and rules. Understand that violating this list of guidelines could result in a suspension or revocation of your access card.
Walking Pass Guideline:
Safety is of the highest priority for our students and staff, and we are continuing to use the Raptor Technology Scanning System, district wide. Bring your driver’s license/photo I.D. to Patty Gunner, Community Education Coordinator, located in the High School, for a brief initial background scan. You can come for your background scan and have your picture taken Monday-Thursday between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Once complete, you will receive your Walking Pass Keycard to access H.O.B. Elementary during the walking program times for a small one-time fee. You will be notified when your key card is ready for pick up. You must receive a Walking Pass Keycard prior to beginning the program. Replacement key passes may be purchased if necessary. THE BACKGROUND SCAN AND PICTURE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30TH. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE UNTIL THEN.
Program Rules:
All aspects of the Holland Central School District Code of Conduct will be in effect.
Holland Central School District is a drug-free, smoke/tobacco-free and alcohol-free campus. The use of cigarettes, eCigarettes, vapes, alcohol, or drugs is strictly prohibited.
Access is only permitted for those who have been approved through the Community Education Program.
Hours of Operation are Monday-Thursday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm during October to May.
If the district closed due to inclement weather, the walking program will also be closed.
Unauthorized access is prohibited. Do not enter restricted areas without permission.
Holding or propping the door open for others to access is prohibited.
Be respectful, responsible, and safe:
Keep Noise Levels Down: Be mindful of noise levels to avoid disrupting others.
Respect Privacy: Avoid taking photos or videos of individuals inside the building (staff or community members)
Cleanliness: Keep the premises clean by disposing of trash properly and avoiding littering.
Service Animals Only: Any animal other than a certified service animal is prohibited. Emotional support or comfort animals are not service animals and therefore are not permitted.
No Solicitation: Avoid engaging in any form of solicitation unless explicitly permitted.
Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures such as evacuation routes and assembly points.

As mandated by an amendment of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Code, each person applying for a new driver's license will be required to qualify for the MV278 certificate. At the end of this 5 hour session, each student will be issued the proper certificate. Students must have a valid "Learner's Permit." Appropriate behavior is expected while attending the course and failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal with no refund. Classes will be held after school.

Defensive Driving Point/Insurance Reduction Course Instructor: All-Pro Tutoring & Test Prep Course Fee: $50

This point and insurance reduction program reviews safe driving and accident-avoidance techniques. Upon completion of the class, drives are eligible for a 10% reduction in their auto insurance and/or up to 4 points removed from their DMV driving record. Drivers may take the course every 3 years for insurance reduction and every 18 months for point reduction. All drivers listed on a policy are eligible to complete the course. This is a great way to reduce the cost of your auto insurance!
