A traveller flying out for a fortnight in one country needs data for maps, messaging and the occasional video call. They pick the destination on holafly.com, choose a data amount and select a duration from the usual options of 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 or 30 days, then press the green button such as "Get unlimited internet" to reach the cart summary.
In the "Discount code" field below the line items and above the total, they type TECHREVIEW and tap the arrow rather than pressing Enter. The total should drop by 5% before they move on to payment. No account login is needed for a Travel eSIM; the QR code goes to the email entered at checkout.
The practical point for this traveller is the day count. It is a duration that starts when the eSIM is activated at the destination, not when it is bought, so buying early does not burn days. Installation, however, should be done over Wi-Fi before flying.
A traveller doing three countries in sequence may be considering separate Travel eSIMs, or a regional or global one. Multiple eSIMs can be stored on one device with different carriers and data plans, so stacking profiles on the same phone is workable.
The discount arithmetic is where care is needed. Codes cannot be stacked, and only one promo code applies per purchase. If the eSIMs are bought as separate orders, each order stands on its own at checkout, and the code has to be entered in the discount field each time. At a $49.90 starting price, 10% is roughly five dollars a month, and it holds for the first 12 months of billing. Two terms shape the decision. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time with no fees or long-term commitment, and cancellation is done from the account panel, not by email. Annual plans include a 12-month commitment period. Either way, a Plan activates immediately on purchase and stays valid for 30 days from the purchase date, renewing automatically for another 30-day cycle, so buying ahead of a future trip does not delay activation. Switching plan later means cancelling the existing one and buying a new one.
All three need an eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked phone, checked against Holafly's compatibility list; most iPhones from XR onwards, recent Google Pixels and Samsung Galaxy S20 and later are covered. After payment, install through the app's guided flow or the emailed QR code, set the Holafly line for mobile data, and turn data roaming on for that line only.
