Associate Professor of Marketing (with Tenure)

University of Missouri - St. Louis

WELCOME! My name is Ho Kim (Kim is my last name). I am an Associate Professor of Digital and Social Media Marketing at University of Missouri-St. Louis. I hold a Ph.D. from UCLA, an M.S. from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea, and a Bachelor's degree from Yonsei University, Korea. I have been teaching Digital Marketing Strategies and Measurement (MBA), Marketing and Business Analytics (MBA), and Marketing Analysis (Undergraduate) since 2015. I am an active researcher in online word-of-mouth, online search, content analysis, pricing of online products, and advertising of experience products. I use econometric/statistical models and content analysis techniques to understand how firms’ marketing activities influence consumers. I am also very interested in experimental methods that will help me to prove causality.

I have published at leading journals in marketing and business, such as Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Interactive Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, and Omega. My research has been featured at various outlets, including Forbes, Huffington Post, The Globe and Mail, and Harvard Business School Working Knowledge. I was also invited by the Maeil Business Newspaper (South Korea's leading business daily) to introduce my 2017 Journal of Interactive Marketing paper for practitioners. I am a recipient of the 2019 Emerald Literati Award and the 2019 Durand Award for Research Excellence.
