Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does This Map Not Work On Bedrock Edition

The map that was used as a base for the project (Mr. Kaspersson) [V3 or older] or prof_artifex [V4+] is exclusive to Java Edition. Also, the map cannot be converted to Bedrock Edition without causing bugs. Therefore, we ask all users to make sure they have a downloaded, premium copy of Java Edition (not the demo/trial version) to run this map.

Do We Support Cracked Versions?

We NEVER codone pirated versions of the game. Any and all reports that involve cracked versions will be invalidated. Go buy Minecraft instead of committing piracy.

How Do You Install Snapshots?

Source: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/How_to_install_a_snapshot

To play a snapshot or previous version of Minecraft, go into the "Installations" tab and tick the "Snapshots" option in the top-right corner. This allows you to play both the latest release versions and development versions by switching profiles on the launcher.

Does This Map Support 1.12.2?

Unfortunately, no. We don't support older versions of Minecraft: Java Edition for this project. The main reason behind it is the blocks utilized in the map, as well as the commands. Also, resource packs are to blame, because as of right now, the format level is 13, and the datapack is 12.

I Can't Find Hogwarts!

1.) Each update, the player spawns in the Hub area, being greeted with the welcome message. Players are then directed to press any button on the sides (Y19W38a-Y21W38a) or proceed to the hub (Release 2.0-2.11). If you are using V4, use the Floo Network.

2.) In some versions, the map is played on the latest minecraft snapshot. This means that you must be sure that you are playing the latest Java Edition Snapshot to load the map correctly. This was an issue during 1.14 development and Project snapshots for V2. Please pay attention in the release videos as they will be mentioned.

Are Mods Required?

No. Although datapacks are used to enhance functionality to the map, such as advancements and recipes.

In Release 2.11-3.0, Optifine is recomended for the best of the features, but certainly not required.

In Release 4.0 Beta, Sodium with Indium is recommended. You can use Olinus10's Wynncraft Overhaul Modpack, but be sure to remove any mods that are not necessary.

Why Do I Have Bad Performance on my Client?

Ensure your Minecraft instance is running on the correct runtime architecture.

M1/M2 USERS: NEVER USE intel java runtime with an arm64 device. Use the supported java runtime for the best performance. PrismLauncher is recommended.

Ensure you are using performance mods, such as Sodium if you are using V3+

Am I Required to Use the Resource Pack Provided

Yes. Otherwise, you will see blocks that don't look correct with the scheme of the build (ex: Why the frick is there fire placed on top of pillars of stone brick?).

Can I Use Shaders?

Yes. However, Complimentary Shaders is not supported as it has resulted in game crashes.
