Mark Deuze

Mark Deuze is Professor of Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam’s (UvA) Faculty of Humanities, with honorary appointments at the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, the School of Communication of the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and the Department of Communication and Media Studies of Northumbria University, United Kingdom. Before that he worked as a journalist and academic in the United States, Germany and South Africa. He is also the bass player and singer of Skinflower.

Laura Ahva

Laura Ahva is an Associate Professor in journalism studies at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences at Tampere University, Finland. In the years 2020-2025 she also acts as an Academy Research Fellow and works on a project on dispersed journalism. Previously she has studied participatory and digital journalism, news audiences as well as social responsibility in journalism.
