PTA Sponsored Programs:
Back to School Social: We had so much fun gathering to kick-off a new year. Despite the early rain shower we had a fun evening with musics, food and friends.
Book Fair: We had a GREAT book fair this year! Thanks for your support of our Hobby Library.
Hawk Eyes: Calling all Dads, Uncles, Grandads and the like. We love having you on campus! Thanks for opening our car doors each Friday and being an extra set of hands at all of our events.
Red Ribbon Week: Over 70ft of ribbon decorated the trees of Hobby to remind us to stay drug free.
Reflections, Arts in Education: We had several Hawks move onto regional competitions this year. Way to go creatives!
Mental Health Programming
Out of the Darkness Walk: To support suicide awareness and prevention, Hobby sent a team to participate.
Calm Room @ Hobby Hangout: We worked alongside Hobby Counseling to create a calming space for students to learn new strategies to handle stress and set healthy boundaries.
Hawk Tutoring: A new PTA program this year. We logged many, many hours with Hawk students as they worked hard to accomplish their academic goals.
B’s and Beyond Celebrations: Celebrating academic achievement is fun! Especially when it includes a party!
Hobby Pantry
Fall Distribution: We distributed more than 50 bags of food to our Hawk families who needed a little extra.
Spring Distribution: Thanks to a donation from Howsman Elementary families we were able to send home an additional 50+ bags of food with Hawk families.
Student Achievement Incentives
Winter Break Gift: Congrats! You did it! Ever child received a lollipop and pop-it!
End of Year Paletas: It was hot on all three Field Days and paletas were a huge hit!
Teacher/Staff Appreciation
Pancake Breakfast: Back to school breakfast for our teachers and staff.
Ongoing stock the lounge: Keeping teachers stocked on coffee and other treats is crucial!
Periodic Teacher Box Treats: Fun surprises year around for our favorite teachers and staff.
Teacher Motivation Board: We all need some encouragement.
Thanksgiving Desserts: We provided yummy desserts and drinks for the Thanksgiving teacher luncheon.
Souper Bowl Luncheon: Our Hawk families cooked AN AMAZING buffet of soups for our staff. The desserts were also top knotch! What a treat!
Teacher Appreciation
Luncheon: Taco salad anyone? Yum!
Popcorn Bar: The kids were jealous when they smelled that popcorn popping. Our teachers deserved it!
Breakfast: Bagels, tacos, fruit, yogurt, pastires OH MY!
Drinks and Desserts: We supplied the extra to the staff BBQ lunch!
8th Grade, End of Year Dance and T-Shirts: PTA buy each and every 8th grader a special shirt at the end of their time at Hobby. We also put on an 8th Grade End of Year Dance. We will miss our oldest Hawks. Once a hawk, always a hawk.
Jack C. Jordan Scholarship: Hobby PTA contributes to the Jack C. Jordan Scholarship fund every year, alongside the hundreds of other PTAs on our area.
School Dances x 4: We love to put on a dance and help clubs make some money. We pay for the decoration and the DJ and the organizations (NJHS, Theatre, GT, Student Council, etc.) get to keep the profit.
Field Day x 3: Each grade gets a Field Day. We support with volunteers, fun, and paletas.
Hobby Hub: On-Campus Club Support: Our goal is for every kid to have a place on campus they feel like they belong. We are working with Hobby teachers to create clubs that meet those needs.

In 1971, Hobby Middle School opened its doors to students and families, ushering in the first class of Hawks into what would become fifty years of lifetime learners.
The sounds of decades past can be heard throughout the hallways where former Hawk students now find themselves as Hawk parents and grandparents.
