The HNV Mentorship Program is designed to facilitate the pairing of mentors and mentees, with mentors playing a pivotal role in assisting mentees with their job search and career development goals by sharing their knowledge, professional experience and industry insight. The mentor-mentee matching process is based on the same or the most similar background, experiences, interests, etc.
This program will run for 2 months, starting from the mid of August 2025 until the end of October 2025. Please find the program timeline details in the section below.
Deadline: 11:59 PM August 8, 2025 EST (Toronto time)
The HNV Mentorship Program is designed to facilitate the pairing of mentors and mentees, with mentors playing a pivotal role in assisting mentees with their job search and career development goals by sharing their knowledge, professional experience, and industry insight.
The mentor-mentee matching process is based on the online applications (form) received from mentors and mentees candidates. Both mentors and mentees will be able to indicate their preferences in whom they would like to work with. The program organizers will make every effort to match mentors and mentees with those similar interests, backgrounds, and experiences. Therefore, it is important to note that being matched with your preferred mentor is not guaranteed.
There will be no participation fee for mentors, but mentees will need to pay an application processing fee of $60, which helps offset the administrative costs and fund prizes to the program winners at the gala program wrap-up event by the end of the program.
Once the matching process is completed, both mentors and mentees will receive a matching email from the program organizer. After receiving the matching email, mentees will actively email mentors to introduce themselves, along with a resume attached. Once matched and the first contact between mentors and mentees is established, mentors and mentees will actively work together on mentees’ goals and plans throughout the program.
Furthermore, there will be a Job Search contest organized among the participating group of mentees and mentors. For the first round, Mentees will have the opportunity to choose a job description of their choice and make a Resume, possibly with the help of Mentors via 1-on-1 meetings and workshops provided by the Organizing team. Those with the best Resumes will be selected to participate in the final round, which is the Interviewing round. The winners will be announced in the Gala Event for the program closing.
