How WE GOT HERE?
For years, our parish longed for something more for our teens — something beyond Confirmation, beyond the occasional youth event, and beyond just hoping they stayed connected. Like many parishes, we saw a drop-off in teen involvement after 8th grade. We knew it wasn’t because teens didn’t care about their faith — they simply didn’t have a place to grow in it, together.
In the summer of 2024, the Holy Spirit began stirring hearts within our parish — inspiring several parishioners to discern how we might better serve the spiritual needs of our high school youth. We prayed, asked questions, and researched. Through that process, the Holy Spirit kept leading us to a single conclusion: we need a ministry that meets teens where they are — and walks with them deeper into relationship with Christ.
That journey led us to Life Teen, a movement within the Catholic Church that focuses on relational ministry, authentic community, and Christ-centered catechesis. Life Teen isn’t just a program — it’s a parish-based model that integrates teens into the life of the Church, nourished by the Eucharist and guided by mentors who care.
With the blessing of our pastor, and after months of preparation, we are excited to launch Life Teen at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Fall 2025.
