Studio Ghibli Purse Design
Date: Summer 2020Medium: Angelus Leather PaintsSize: UnknownGift: Jennifer Truong
A commission to design her favorite anime from Studio Ghibli. It's my first time designing on leather material using Angelus paints. It's time-consuming, yet amazing to paint pictures on the purse. The challenge is the texture of the purse and the chains, but I was able to pull it off at some point. This design is a reference from a movie called, Spirit Away and My Neighborhood Totoro.
Animal Modernism
Portray by Piet Mondrian
Date: Fall 2020Medium: Prisma color pencilsSize: 11" x 8.5"
A studio challenge from the University of Houston; Art Education course. I drew a simple cat along with Mondrian's style. I learned that we can use famous artists to learn about their works and exemplify their artistic licenses into the lesson plan. This lesson plan is fun for people to create their ideas related to famous artists. It's pretty simplistic to teach, and creative to express the abstraction of the shapes and colors on the cat.

An Bang Cemetery, locally known as City of Ghost, has colorful tombs and is located near Hue, Vietnam. The cemetery is created to pray and respect the ancestors from the afterlife. They believe that keeping the cemetery clean would bring the family good fortune.
The Eye of the World
Collages
Date: Fall 2020Medium: Watercolors, silver and white gel pens, burnt paper scrapSize: 5.5" x 8.5"
A studio challenge from the University of Houston; Art Education course. I created a collage using different media and depicted the eye on the camera lenses that could see through the crack. It's about many people take pictures as they travel around the world so they won't forget the experiences they've witnessed in their life. The burning edges represent the insight that a person would never forget.
