What should I bring to the training class or activity?

You should bring along the following items for attending the activity:

  1. Print the "Declaration by Participant" form from the Download page in this website. If you are 18 or above, bring a completed and signed "Declaration by Participant" on the day of activity. If you are under 18 years of age, you should bring along a completed "Declaration by Participant's Parent/Guardian or Person Authorized by Applicant's Parent/Guardian". You should submit this signed "Declaration" to your instructor on the first day of activity, otherwise you will NOT be allowed to take part in the water sports activity.

  2. a bottle of water

  3. money for buying lunch or bring your own lunch

  4. a padlock for locker

  5. your clothes suitable for water sports such as a swimsuit or swimming trunks

  6. a spectacle band (if needed)

  7. a sun cap

  8. light, breathable and fit long-sleeved clothes

  9. soap, shampoo and a bath towel for shower

When going afloat, you must bring along with a water-proof whistle, and wear a pair of toe and heel-protected rubber shoes. Slippers or sandals which provide no protection are NOT allowed.

Buoyancy aids and helmets are provided by the centre.

What is the training or activity time?

9:00 - 12:00 Morning Session

12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Break

1:00 - 5:00 Afternoon Session

Do you offer Level 3 sailing course?

Yes.

What is the minimum age to join the sailing squad?

A squad sailor should be 8 years old or above.

Will I receive a certificate on completion of my training?

On completion and passing the assessments of one of the training courses, you may apply, on your own expense, for HKSSA’s certificates and/or the HKSF/HKCU’s certificates of the correspondence levels. Your instructor will tell you further information in your first lesson.

How can I go to the HKSSA Water Sports Centre?

Our address is Main Dam, Plover Cove Reservoir, Tai Mei Tuk, Tai Po, NT. It is next to the tuck shop at the BBQ site at the waterfront.

Take Green Minibus 20C from Tai Po Market MTR Station and alight at the last stop, the minibus terminal.

Take Bus 75K at Tai Po Market Bus Terminal and alight at the last stop, Tai Mei Tuk bus terminal.

What is your refund policy?

If the course is cancelled due to bad weather, COVID-19 suspension or other reason(s) and we cannot allocate the participants to join other suitable courses before May 31, 2021. We will arrange the full refund to the participants before or after June 2021.
