If you have any chance to travel to Tokyo, Japan and would be interested in any workshop opportunity, please let me know via email (hm18 @ waseda.jp). Our group is interested in having guest speakers who are quantitatively studying organizations, strategy, innovation, and human resources. There are also several other options than just "visit." Please feel free to contact me. You can also find an official page on visiting scholars here.
Empirical studies in the field of management and organization studies, organizational learning, and social networks. I am interested in exploring effective management policies and organizational design for value creation (e.g., innovation, change, growth, and safety) thorough the analysis of learning and networks.
If you are interested in working with me as a Ph.D. student at Waseda, please apply for our Master Program first. Becoming good empirical researchers requires knowledge, skills, motivations, writing capabilities, values, and mental toughness. After I assess your competence during the two year Master Program, you can apply for the Ph.D. program upon my permission. On average, it takes 5 to 6 years in total for the Ph.D. dissertation preparation, so you are not wasting your time.
I only take students who have plans to pursue academic careers after graduation. Applicants need to have experiences in writing empirical papers. I expect incoming students to have already studied statistics, econometrics, programming (e.g., Python / R / Stata), and some essences of social science and organization studies. Please share any material that can prove your expertise in these areas.
