Montrose4 Studio is a boutique experiential design business led by women who have decades of experience at the forefront of innovation, technology and design. Through extended reality, most notably augmented reality, we work with partners and clients to create experiences where art and technology combine to create wonder and joy, and connections and shifted perceptions. The Dutchess County Historical Society (DCHS) remains committed to being the most meaningful source of Dutchess County history, a commitment in place since its 1914 founding. We do this through the responsible archival stewardship of tangible objects, and the restless and energetic interpretation and presentation of its history to the public. Through this project we are testing the ability of AR to engage people with history in innovative ways. We take very seriously ethics and truth in representation of history when it comes to the use of digital technology. The images and background information were all sourced from Rhinebeck Historical Society collections, the DCHS collections and from other reliable sources. Minimal digital editing was done and AI was used to lightly animate a few of the images (indicated as such).
This is a proof of concept and we welcome your feedback so that we can better understand what works best and where adjustments can be made! Please send this and/or expressions of interest in working with us to montrose4studios@gmail.com
