Keynote speaker

Dr. Ruth Elizabeth Prado Pérez is Professor-Researcher in the Department of Sociopolitical and Legal Studies at ITESO University in Guadalajara (Mexico) since 2009. She is an Internationalist with a Master's degree in Diplomatic Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of the Matías Romero Institute. She continued her academic training in the United Kingdom, at the University of Essex, where she obtained a Master's degree in International Relations and a PhD in Government. In 2015 he completed a postdoctoral research stay at Boston College in the United States. 

Since 2008 she is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers, currently Level 1, and her research interests include:

- Gender, Women and Violence in migratory contexts. 

- Women's participation in spaces of power and public decision-making in Mexico and Jalisco.

She has participated in different national and international conferences and in 2019 she was invited by the Refugee Studies Centre of the University of Oxford. She is the author of numerous publications. Her most recent book is ‘Las mujeres en la cámara de diputados de México: de la representación descriptiva a la distribución del poder por género’ published by the Instituto Nacional Electoral in 2024.
