Hijiyama University, Hiroshima City - Urgent Part-Time Position, April 2026
To all Native-English speaking Part-Time teachers,
Hijiyama University (in Hiroshima City, Ushita area) is looking to fill 2 classes that have
become open for Spring, 2026. In brief they are:
English Literacy / English I (two semesters: Spring AND Fall, only the name changes from Spring to Fall). This class is taught using short videos in an ONLINE PLATFORM (so the materials are already decided and can NOT be changed. But, of course, they can be supplemented by the teacher! This class is taught 2 times a week: the Native English teacher would teach TUES am (9-10:30 / the day and time can NOT be changed). Then his/her Japanese counterpart teach the SAME students on FRI am. So, there is some collaboration required between the two teachers.
The same class BUT ONLY IN SPRING (English Literacy), and that one is on WEDS am (9-10:30 / the day and time can not be changed).
We do not require ONE teacher do both open classes. 2 different people are acceptable as they are on 2 different days. Of course, as usual, experience at the university level and an MA is required for these classes! More details can be given once applications are sent. (Please forgive the seeming abruptness of this announcement! These classes opened up suddenly and we would like to fill them by the 1st week of February! We would gladly do an interview with candidates via Zoom to save a trip to campus.)
Please email your CV (both English and Japanese) to Damon Chapman, Hijiyama University,
Dept. of Language & Culture. Email: octoberchild@hotmail.com
Thanks in advance,
