Dear Visitors,
We are sorry for those of you who visited yesterday and found it difficult to park your car.
The Swan is very busy this weekend, which was anticipated so we have arranged a complimentary taxi both days from overflow parking at Lakeside Aquarium. See parking instructions below.
We are very sorry if the Swan car park attendant gave misleading information, we will address this and make improvements in signage at Lakeside Aquarium Car Park ready for Saturday.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are happy to give free entry to Friday ticket holders if you didn't make it today.
Parking Instructions
By Car
The Swan Hotel car park (120 spaces) is pay and display and shared with hotel guests. We kindly ask that you park sensibly and considerately to ensure everyone’s safety. We highly recommend car-sharing with friends where possible. Parking tickets can be re-imbursed when purchasing food & drinks at The Swan – Day Visitor Parking costs £7.50 2hrs, £15 4hrs, £30 8hrs.
Arriving on Saturday? - please tell the parking attendant you are a hotel guest, staying for lunch, or visiting for a coffee to avoid being sent straight down the road to park.
If there are no spaces available?
𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 with Complimentary Taxi Shuttle
Lakeside Aqaurium Public Pay and Display Car Park: LA12 8AS (300 spaces £5/day)
- 4 Minutes’ drive - Please park in the second (larger) parking area BEHIND the Aquarium of the Lakes, then take our complimentary taxi shuttle to/from The Swan 10.30-4.00pm both days of the event.
Iain’s Taxis, 07788 889525 - MEETING POINT - The brown taxi 4-seater car, (with our SHUTTLE sign in the front window) will be parked up at the side of the aqaurium (between the first small parking area by the Lakeside Hotel and second larger area
Or enjoy the 15-20 min walk along the Windermere Way to The Swan.
Please abide by the laws of the land, keep in mind:
You should not park on or immediately adjacent to the A590.
Do not block access for residents, public transport or the emergency services.
Do not park on the bridge.
Arriving by bus
The Swan is but a 2-minute walk from the Newby Bridge bus stop, where buses arrive every hour to get you to and from Barrow, Dalton, Ulverston and Windermere. This’ll mean no searching for a parking spot, no queuing for the car park and a big THANK YOU from Mother Nature, too! The X6, 6 and X60 buses are all Swan-friendly.
