Biography
Dr. Yuki Hirata gained Ph.D. degree from The University of Tokyo in March 2016. He joined Tokyo Institute of Technology in April 2018 as an assistant professor. Prior to this, he was an assistant professor of Tokyo University of Science. He has research experiences at The University of Tokyo (Surface Science and Tribology Laboratory, Fluid Engineering Laboratory) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) as well. Currently, his research interests reaches from developing 3D a-C:H film coating technique as a fundamental research to analyze its tribological properties as a applied research. Targets of these researches are in mechanical engineering, sustainable tribology, energy conservation and MEMS/NEMS application. He also interested in science and engineering challenges in global area through international contribution activities.
