Dr. Deka is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering Department of IIT Dharwad. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Taiwan University from September 2020 to July 2021, and at the French Institute of Petroleum (Institute Francais de Petrol) from January 2019 to June 2020. He has completed Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He likes to travel, learn about the history and cultural heritage of the places, and enjoy ethnic foods

Research Interest: Multiphase flows, Rheology, Surface Engineering, Application of Machine Learning on fluid flow, Performance and Safety of Lithium-ion batteries, Geophysical flows,  Fluid mechanics of disease transmission. 

Channaveera Shastry D.M completed his B.E in Mechanical Engineering (2015) from Tontadarya Collage of Engineering, Gadag, Karnataka and MTech in Thermal Science and Energy Sysytems (2020) from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Karnataka. He joined IIT Dharwad in December 2021 as a PhD scholars. He worked as a research intern at IISc before joining IIT Dharwad. His hobbies are singing, cooking, gymnastics and running.

Research interest: Multiphase flow, CFD, Solar & Energy storage devices and Cryogenics.

Harsh Kumar Rai have done BTech from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, UP In Mechanical Engineering (2019) and MTech in Thermal Engineering from Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jhansi, UP (2022). He joined IIT Dharwad as a PhD student in December 2022. His hobbies are travelling, exploring new things, cooking, and playing sports like Badminton, Cricket and Kabaddi etc.

Kartikeya Kumar Singh has completed his B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from MNNIT Allahabad in 2021. He joined IIT Dharwad in August 2022 as a M. Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) student. His hobbies include Badminton and Music.

Research Interest: CFD, Multi-phase flows, Drop dynamics, Thin Liquid Film evolution and dynamics.

Narendranath Basak completed his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from Alliance University, Bangalore, in 2023. He has worked on a hybrid fuel ducted rocket project during his B.Tech. He did an internship at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He joined IIT Dharwad in November 2023 as a JRF. His hobbies are playing cricket, physical and mental fitness, reading books and traveling.

Research interest: CFD, Experimental Aerodynamics, Combustion, Propulsion.
