Hiranmay Ghosh had received his Ph.D. degree from Electrical Engineering Department of IIT-Delhi. He had received his B.Tech. degree in Radiophysics & Electronics and B.Sc. Degree with Honours in Physics, both from the Calcutta University. His current research and academic interests center around Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cognitive Computing. At present, he is an Adjunct Faculty with IIT-Jodhpur.
Hiranmay had been associated with R&D and engineering activities for more than 40 years in reputed organizations in public and private sectors. He has contributed to challenging and pioneering projects, including those to develop the operating system for an indigenous computer, and the development of a family of digital switching systems, in various leadership roles. He has been responsible for establishing a research program specializing in computer vision and artificial intelligence for a TATA group of company, in collaboration with academics.
Hiranmay has an overall teaching experience of more than 15 years. He has been invited by various IITs and NITs to develop curriculum, course contents and teach specialized subjects as Adjunct/Guest Faculty. He had also been invited to deliver tutorials and invited talks by several academic institutions, conferences and professional bodies.Â
He has many publications in reputed journals and peer-reviewed conferences to his credit and has authored/co-authored a few books and book chapters on topics of his interest (see Publications). He has chaired several national and international conferences. He had also contributed as technical expert in a number on national and international research projects. He has received several awards from the organizations he worked for, including the "Great Performance Award" from C-DOT.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE, Life Member of IUPRAI, and a Member of ACM.
