About us

The English Language Association HIPPO ELT (Здружение за англиски јазик ХИПО ЕЛТ) is a registered non-profit association based in Struga, North Macedonia. We are the national coordinator for HIPPO the Contest in North Macedonia.

Founded on a passion for English language education, our Association brings together teachers, students, schools, and families around one shared goal: making high-quality English learning accessible and inspiring for every child in Macedonia.

Our Mission

• Advance the teaching and learning of English language at all levels.

• Educate citizens, especially children and young people, about the value of English proficiency.

• Promote excellence in teaching and learning through competitive events.

• Organise activities for the professional development of English language teachers.

• Coordinate Hippo the Contest at local, national, and international level.

•  Encourage peer learning and collaboration between students through competitive activities.

Our Team & Governance

The Association is managed by an Executive Board (Извршен одбор) of three members elected for four-year terms. The President represents the Association legally and is responsible for financial authorisations.
