HiPEL, the Power Electronics Laboratory at Hongik University Power electronics engineering uses power semiconductors, switching techniques, control theory, and DSP application technology to control motors used throughout the industry, improve power quality, etc. It is a practical discipline that develops control techniques and circuit structures for utilizing renewable energy sources (wind power, solar power generation, energy storage devices ESS, HILS for power grid connection, AC-DC converters and etc). The Hongik University Power Electronics Laboratory conducts research on power conversion and electromotive power applications, with the goal of advancing power conversion technology and fostering human resources in related fields.
