My Youtuber Mistakes of 2019 and Lessons Learnt for 2020
Welcome to my first website post of 2020. Voiceovers: Initially I used to record the voiceovers for my videos with the sound recorder app on my phone, but it was such a hassle because my sound recorder was too sensitive to sounds. It always picked up on the tinniest of background noise until I discovered a trick of my own. I realised that I could instead record my voice with my phone video camera and then convert it to an audio file. This made my voiceover recording experience so much easier and will remain my primary mode of recording until I find something better.
2. The Perfect Video: I found myself spending so many hours recording my videos because I would always re-record after every mistake that I made. Soon enough I realised it was part of the video making experience. Its okay to make mistakes, I don’t have to restart my video recording process after every mistake. Its okay if I forgot to mention a word, sentence, or more ideas in my video. The next video is a new opportunity to make a better video. Besides there is no such thing as a perfect video! #facts. 3. Editing: It wasn’t long after I discovered that there is no such thing as a perfect video that I realised that I was spending much more time editing my videos than I did creating them. Especially if you don’t have an editor or someone to help edit your videos, editing can take up so much of time. Not every mistake or error is such a big deal to the viewers that warrants to be removed. If unsure, ask a friend to review your video and you will find that a minimalist video editing is good enough so long as your viewers enjoy or value the content of your videos. 4. Don’t Quit: YouTube counts is a good way to assess the progress of your videos. Disappointment is however part of the journey, just keep in mind that most of your favorite youtuber's spent years of consistency to get to where they currently are. So long as you enjoy or value what you have to offer then keep on going but don’t forget to aim for higher, you can always try different strategies to change or improve your videos or content. 5. Be Always Ready: My best youtube video ideas came to me randomly at odd times that I least expected so I have learnt to be always prepared. So now I always have my pen and paper or phone to write down ideas regardless of where or when I may be. It can be whilst you're working, watching tv, listening to music or the radio, walking, driving, time out with friends etc. Happy 2020!#

Make Sure to Look Out for These 3 Points Before Choosing Where to Study for College / University
I hope you find these three points helpful, don't be like me who made the mistake of not seeking out these information before applying to university, which I of course later regretted. 1. First - Think about the location of the school especially the size of the town! People often take this for granted. For instance, small towns may not have everything but they have the basic things and there’s often a sense of community and closeness to the natural environment. However, big cities are often busy, crowded, and fast paced. Hence, it can be noisy, distracting, and more difficult to form bonds with people. However, they provide the benefit of extensive road and transport networks, there are more opportunities, you meet every kind of people, never run out of things to do and get to experience good night life. On the other hand, mid-sized towns provide the best of both worlds from what you would get from a small town and a big city, they provide a good balance.
2. Secondly - Don’t forget to look at the housing and transportation situation for whatever location your interested in because some towns and cities have poor or non-existent transport systems, some don’t have sufficient housing or housing can be very expensive! Often, housing price and transportation availability is tied to the type of businesses that are moving a certain location. For instance, housing in a mid sized town or small town can be comparatively expensive to housing in a big city if they are highly touristic destinations! So make sure to look out for these so you don’t end up regretting, spending money you don’t have or having to move somewhere else – because moving isn’t always easy.
3. Thirdly - Check for the size of the department. Once you've determined the location your interested in then search for departments with expertise in the field you want to study. The higher the number of schools within the location of your interest, then the more flexibility you have to decide on the size of the department. For instance, smaller departments with few staff and just about average quality teaching may not provide you with everything but you get the benefit of being connected to your peers. You also get enough mentorship and support time with professors, which is often the best choice especially for graduate school because you will need all the support you can get. However, in bigger departments you are likely to get a highly challenging and motivating experience but you run the risk of lacking academic related relationships with your peers and professors because no one really has time for you. You can feel alone and lost at the same time but if you don’t really care and just want in and out of school then this might just be the right choice for you.

Factors include:1. Terms of lease– length of contract and the flexibility to get in and out of lease contract in case of emergencies or unforeseen events.2. The price - which is determined by the safety of location, and proximity to campus, downtown, basic stores, and transportation. The better and more strategic the location is, the higher the price.3. Living Preferences - if you prefer to live with friends, family, only girls or boys as housemates, and if you prefer privacy or don’t mind sharing living space. If you prefer housing that is fully furnished and has all the basic amenities such as wifi, laundry units, parking space, and extra facilities like a gym and pool etc.

Private apartments and full houses: You can search for these on apartment finding websites via Google and advertising websites like Craigslist etc. Also, you can use property and real estate agency websites in your location to find private apartments and houses. The good thing about these types of housing is that you have more flexibility to chose what you want like the distance, price, number of shared spaces, basic amenities etc You also have the flexibility to chose who you want to live with whether friends and family etc However, as a result, the competition for them is high and so the earlier you start searching the better chance you have to find somewhere with your specific tastes.
Lastly, don’t be afraid to ask around for help when it comes to housing, you can get in touch with current students, alumna’s, and even appropriate campus staff to find out more about the housing situation in the location of your school.

You start to become purposefully conscious about being an adult, like a bulb suddenly lit in your head, thus shining light on all the things that seemed far off, dead to you or that you may have taken for granted. In reaction, you experience the sense of urgency to make a bold move and push for the many things that you want to accomplish.
For instance, you suddenly become obsessed about the things you have achieved and not achieved in your life that you believed or hoped that you would have accomplished, such as your career and financial goals, relationship goals, health goals, and preoccupation with your life’s purpose.
You may begin to compare your life, with that of your peers including friends and family. And worse in this internet age, you start to compare your life with strangers online; people that you only know because the internet exist and would never likely know but then it feels so real.
If you're like most people, you'll realise that your far behind in many of the things that you had hoped to achieve in your mid-20's. However, the people that outperform the most of us are not a majority of the population and may not be any different. It's likely that they were lucky enough to start off on the right path for them in time.
Nonetheless, by your mid-20's you’ve probably learned so much from your experiences that prepare you for the tougher life ahead. For instance, you learn that change is constant and failure is subjective, you experience profound self-awareness and become more open-minded regarding your views about life, but also form a more solid stance of who you are and where you want to be in life. You learn to stop caving in into the pressure that society and everyone else puts on you. And you know to stand up for your self.
In the end when you discuss with others, you eventually realise that you're not alone. Most people think that by the age of 25 in their mid-20's that they should have already figured out life and have about everything in order for the future. But life is never straightforward and you wished someone had told you that before now.

Studying in the UK vs the US - Things you Should Know

1.The duration of study: The duration of study is shorter in the UK than in the US. For instance, undergraduate study in the UK is on average 3 years but is up to 4 years in the US, while a masters is between 9 months to one year in the UK but is on average 2 years in the US with some few exceptions depending on the program of study. A Phd on average is for 3 years in the UK, but if up to 4-5 years in the US.
2. Work load time/depth: However, the shorter duration of study in the UK also means that the work load at a time is often much more and in-depth than in the US. For instance, one module or class is on average about 6 credit hours in the UK, which is equivalent two classes in the US. In the US, a class on average is 3 credit hours, but the exception is in graduate school wherein you can assign up to 6 or more credit hours for a research class.
3. Learning style: The workload in the UK is a very challenging experience for students compared to the US. For instance, a majority of the burden of learning class materials falls on the students. Expect lots of group work, research and writing for every class, as well as workshops where everyone is expected to participate in class so be prepared. In the US, the majority of the burden falls on the professors or lecturers, students are expected to read and do other assignments but the primary assessments are based on tests and exams so expect lots of independent studying. Whereas tests and exams are not as common in the UK.
4. Reading materials: Reading materials are often more flexible in the UK, you often don’t need to buy a particular text book for a class like in the US. In the UK, Professors or lectures often provide a wide range of texts on the same subject that you can read and sometimes work with the library to limit the duration for borrowing each texts so that most students can have equal assess to the books.
5. Preparation for after school: The UK system prepares you more for graduate school if that’s what your into and propels you to the job market because it is required to do work experience as part of the curricular for most degrees such as volunteer or internships and job skills classes, whereas in the US these are optional and its up to the student to seek them out.
In the end, school should be a good balance of work and play. The US offers a more relaxed and enjoyable experience whilst studying than in the UK.

Most people know about astrology i.e. zodiac signs and horoscopes and many believe in them. So why are people drawn to astrology? Here’s what I think or or click on the video at the left to direct you straight to Youtube
1. First and foremost, people yearn to understand themselves especially why they and others behave the way that they do. People also like predictability and seek meaning about life. And horoscopes to a degree provide answers.
2. However, astrology does not provide all the answers. For instance, zodiac signs and horoscopes for the most part don’t exactly explain the reasoning and processes behind why people behave the way that they do. They are mainly indicators for the broad types of behaviours that certain people are predisposed to. Moreover, a good number of people find that they do not display the behavioural patterns of their assigned zodiac sign or horoscope, and find that their behaviour fits better with a different zodiac sign or horoscope.
3. Psychology generally does a better a job of providing more explicit and detailed explanation for why people behave the way that they do. Personality tests, for instance, are generated and widely used by psychologists for the purpose of understanding human behaviour. While there are several personality tests out there, they remain less common and underutilized among the general population because compared to astrology they require more effort to learn and understand. 4. The Myers-Briggs personality type indicator, for instance, is one of the popular personality tests, which is a useful tool for understanding behaviour and personal outlook on life. Just as there are 12 zodiac signs, there are 16 personality types according to Myers-Briggs and so everyone falls under one of the personality types. You can easily find out your personality type by simply taking the test online and you can learn about each personality online. There are so many online resources. (I suggest that if it's your first time that you try taking the test at least three times either on the same website or on multiple websites, also take the tests when your not feeling overtly stressed or excited and try to space each test by at least a day).

1. Make a monthly budget and list of things to buy: or you can make a budget or list every time you go shopping. This helps you to keep track on your spending. Many suffer from mental health in graduate school so here's what I have to say to spark the discussion on this supposedly forbidden topic or click on video on the left to direct you straight to Youtube
1. If you’re a graduate student and you are feeling overwhelmed, confused, and or depressed you’re not alone. Hence the reason why I chose to speak on this because it appears that no one ever wants to talk about the mental health struggles of graduate school. Yet everyone of my colleague that I’ve managed to talk to have all experienced some form of mental stress as a graduate student. Everyone keeps quiet and graduate students are expected to just go along like its normal when it obviously not fine.
2. First of all one needs to bear in mind that in graduate school, you expected to learn so much in depth knowledge within a short period of time and produce quality work. So the workload which includes reading for classes and the amount of assignments for each course is very much. Your expected to spend close to 15 hours per week for each course. However, its just not the number of hours that you have to read that causes the mental breakdown, it is the mental energy that is expended to read close to 500 pages or more for each course, multiply that by the number of courses which is usually well over a 1000 pages of reading. This especially takes it toll on you in the first couple of semesters. You experience high levels of mental stress that if not addressed can lead to either or both psychological and physical illness. Even the more reason I wonder why no one never talks about it.
3. Graduate students especially need to be advised and assisted in regard to mental health. Several studies show high rates of mental stress among graduate students, more than 50% of graduate students are likely to experience mental health related problems especially depression (just click on any of the articles with the title mental health in graduate school on Google). Hence leading to a large number of graduate students quitting half way through their degree program especially Phd students.
4. If your in the midst of your degree and considering quitting, please pause, take a time to breath and seek counselling as soon as possible, it really helps. I for one can say that it has been of immense help to me throughout my mental stress struggles in graduate school. 5. There is however also trick to learn, which is that you don’t need to spend all of your time reading every word, every sentence, and every page. You need to be skillful in reading only the parts that matter to reduce the mental workload and professors don’t actually expect you to do all of the readings but obviously no one is ever going to tell you that. You just sort of have to figure it all out on your own as you go.

I’m going to be talking about how I read fast, which has worked for me and that can help both undergraduate and graduate students, or anyone. or click on video by the left to direct you straight to Youtube
Disclaimer: There is no perfect method to fast reading. Also, I would say that there are different things that can affect how you read, for instance, it can depend on your educational level, your filed of study etc. You also need to be aware that different techniques go with different types of reading materials or reasons for reading. For instance, are you reading for an exam, a class, or assignment – all these fall in the same category but can differ based on the type of reading material, whether it’s a text book, article, or novel kind of book.
1. Fast reading is in two words all about time management - when you have so much on your plate and deadlines, you need time management.
2. If your reading for an exam or assignment - the first thing to do is to read carefully the topics or questions that you have to answer, and highlight the key points, themes, or words of interest.
3. Then if it is a text book that you have to read– go straight to the chapters that contain the topics and answers to the questions of interest. Once in the chapter, scan quickly all the subheadings or subsections and look out for those with the title of interest that you know contain the information that you need. Once you’ve identified the sections/ subheadings of interest, don’t just start reading in detail instead scan quickly for key words and whilst doing that highlight the sentences and paragraphs that contain the key words. Then you can go in and read those highlighted paragraphs and or sentences. This really helps and will be a lot faster to do if your reading an online version of a text book.
3. If your reading an article – read the abstract, fast read the first and last paragraph of the introduction, and the first paragraph of each subheading or section, and fast read the first, middle and last paragraph of the conclusion. Whilst doing this make sure to look out for key words and themes throughout. If it’s a topic you’re already knowledgeable about , after doing this you're more than likely going to have a good idea of what the article is about. Then you can either take your time to read the sentences and paragraphs that contain the key words or points of interest. Or you can even go ahead and read the entire article, you’ll also realise that you will be reading a lot faster.
4. If you’re a graduate student and you need to read for a class, it is going to be quite different, because for graduate classes your most likely not going to be reading novel like books, which contain few chapters and sometimes no subheadings. •So here’s the trick• First go straight to the class syllabus and search for the particular class topic. I find this useful because some professor’s include the reading aims that they want students to understand under each class topic, and if that isn’t included, just scan the entire list of reading materials for the class topic and highlight the key words in the title of each reading. And if there’s more than one book or article, try to connect the running themes and key words that connect all the readings together. These will be your reading guide .• Second, once that’s done, if all you need to read are articles or textbooks you can apply the same suggestions I previously discussed above but if you are reading a novel like book or books with few or without any chapters, divide the book into 5 so that there are 3 middles. •Third, the speed read the first 5 pages or little more depending on how large the book is, then go to the first middle and scan or fast read 5-10 pages or more. Do the same for the next 2 middles, and finally, read the last 5-10 last pages of the book. And keep in mind whilst doing this to look out for and highlight key words and running themes throughout. And there you have it. You should have a modest idea of what the book is about, and if you feel like you have more time or need to understand more then your free to read more.
5. Make sure that at the end, whether it’s a book or article that you read as a graduate student, to have answers to these 5 points•First, what is the topic, research question or key aim of the book/article? Second, how did the book/article go about achieving the aim? Third. what was found, did the book/article achieve or did not achieve the aims? Fourth. what are the implications of the findings? and Fifth, how do the findings or books/articles relate to or address the class topic.
6. Lastly, graduate students and all students alike, it is always good to come to class prepared to discuss but it is also equally important to have questions prepared to ask. So don’t panic if you feel like you don’t completely understand the readings. Professors like it especially when graduate students have questions to discuss because it helps to enhance class discussions.

Introduction - Start with an introduction or introductory sentence or statement.2. Argument - State your argument i.e. our answer3. Example(s) - Include an example or more depending on the length of your assignment to illustrate and support your argument. Don’t just state your example, discuss how and why the example used illustrate or supports your argument.4. Conclusion - Write a conclusion or concluding statement.5. Citation & Reference - Lastly, this is major, don't forget to use or include citations in their answers/assignments. You need to demonstrate that your examples and arguments are supported by other third party scholarly or reputable sources even when it is a personal opinion because it is academia. Unless instructed otherwise, also always include a reference list of all citations used in your answer at the bottom of the assignment. Why so that your professor/grader can see what types of third party works you’ve used and can double check them to determine if they are reputable or not.
However, if you have a three page essay assignment. The format is pretty much the same, follow the same steps just mentioned. It will however need to be more detailed and creative so for example:1. The introduction should be at least one paragraph length, which should comprise of the introductory statement and a summary of the entire essay.2. The next 2 to 4 paragraphs will be your argument. Here is where you can be more detailed and creative, you can for instance include counter arguments, and use examples of studies to demonstrate how and why they are proven wrong. etc3. Last paragraph will be the conclusion. Similarly, you will have to write a concluding statement, and end with a strong note on why you stand with your argument. This should be more or less like writing a summary of the positive implications of your argument and the findings from the studies used as examples in the essay.
Don't forget to include citations and a reference list of all the citations used in your essay!

The Basics You Need When Applying to University/College
I've gotten this question many times over about how to apply to university/college/higher education, in particular what requirements are needed to apply. The process however can differ by country, field of study, department, type of educational level be it a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. Moreover, some are easier than other’s. For the basic requirements that are compulsory or necessary when applying to Universities/Colleges in the United States continue reading. 1. Certification: Most universities require that potential candidates have some form of certificate that indicates that they have completed and passed the necessary steps to move unto the university level. This includes a high school or secondary education certificate if applying for undergraduate education, or and plus certificate of your undergraduate education if applying to a Master’s or PhD.
2. Transcript(s): Most universities require transcripts from previous educations, which is also an important indicator of whether you have completed fundamental knowledge and passed the necessary courses to be able move unto the next level. This can be high school transcripts if applying to undergraduate education, university bachelors transcripts if applying to a Master’s or PhD etc.
3. Standardised Test Scores: Most universities require widely accepted official examination or standardized test scores such as the SAT or ACT standardized test for undergraduate education, and the GRE or GMAT standardized tests for a Master’s or PhD. Other types of general standardized tests scores may be required such as TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) or IELTS (known as the International English Language Testing System) if English is not a first language etc. So don’t forget to check the particular university/college or department for their requirements in regard to applying, which are usually available on their webpage. . For instance, some universities may require particular standardized tests that are less common or specialised, and or that potential candidates pass or meet a specific score threshold on standardized tests.
4. Application/Cover Letter: Many universities not all require that potential candidates write an application or cover letter stating educational interests, qualifications, and reasons for applying to further education etc.
5. Reference: Lastly but not the least, most universities require that potential candidates include at least two or more references from former teachers or professionals that they have worked with in the past that can recommend them as a suitable or qualified candidate.

Certification: Most universities require that potential candidates have some form of certificate that indicates that they have completed and passed the necessary steps to move unto the university level. This includes a high school or secondary education certificate if applying for undergraduate education, or and plus certificate of your undergraduate education if applying to a Master’s or PhD.
2. Transcript(s): Most universities require transcripts from previous educations, which is also an important indicator of whether you have completed fundamental knowledge and passed the necessary courses to be able move unto the next level. This can be high school transcripts if applying to undergraduate education, university bachelors transcripts if applying to a Master’s or PhD etc.
3. Standardised Test Scores: Most universities require widely accepted official examination or standardized test scores such as the SAT or ACT standardized test for undergraduate education, and the GRE or GMAT standardized tests for a Master’s or PhD. Other types of general standardized tests scores may be required such as TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) or IELTS (known as the International English Language Testing System) if English is not a first language etc. So don’t forget to check the particular university/college or department for their requirements in regard to applying, which are usually available on their webpage. . For instance, some universities may require particular standardized tests that are less common or specialised, and or that potential candidates pass or meet a specific score threshold on standardized tests.
4. Application/Cover Letter: Many universities not all require that potential candidates write an application or cover letter stating educational interests, qualifications, and reasons for applying to further education etc.
5. Reference: Lastly but not the least, most universities require that potential candidates include at least two or more references from former teachers or professionals that they have worked with in the past that can recommend them as a suitable or qualified candidate.
Note: Remember these are the 5 basic requirements when applying to university/college, some may require more information or different sets of key documents not listed above. To avoid any errors, make sure to always double check the college, university, department that your applying for all their requirements.

What Judging Types can Learn from Perceiving Types - MBTI
I am going to share some key points that I think judging types can learn from perceiving types especially turbulent judging types. I’ve learnt all of these from personal experience, observing my friends that are perceiving types, and wisdom from matured assertive judging types these things are interrelated. Amongst the many other characteristics, every personality type, according to the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator (MBTI) is either judging or perceiving in how they approach life. Perceiving types are more flexible in how they approach life, while judging types are more structured.
It goes without saying that we all as human beings need some form of predictability in this chaotic world. We adopt habits and practices that give us some sense of control on how things happen and play out in our lives. And for judging types being organised and structured is one of the ways we are able to achieve this. Yet we find that life isn’t always fair, it never always works out perfectly. Therefore, overtime we adjust our behaviours to our environment and seek out balance, which includes minimizing the need to control our lives whilst also leaving room for chance.
1. Planning everything: as a judging type you don’t need to plan every and all things. But it isn’t perfectly okay either to leave everything to chance. However, the key is balance, consider being more receptive to failures, disappointments, things not always working the way you prefer or planned because let’s face it you never know what’s going to happen by chance that might disrupt your plans. Don’t be too tough on yourself, let go of the anxiety that comes with your plans failing and leave room for chance.
2. Learn to be spontaneous: it goes with not always planning everything, how you spend every hour of your time. Being rigid feels safe but yet again because it is a comfort zone, you miss our on many great experiences. You start living life a little more when you step out of your comfort zone. Moreover, some of life’s best experiences are never planned.
3. Learn to multitask: although there might be some important exceptions, there is always no need to finish working on one project before moving unto the next one. You can multitask at the same time. In other words, learn to be more flexible in how you approach life, work, and especially responsibilities or duties in general. It is okay to do a bit of everything incrementally and overtime you get more things done. Moreover, setting your mind to finish a particular task within a particular time frame in a long stretch can be counterproductive and even worse disappointing especially when you fail to meet the deadline that you have set for yourself. At the very least, remember to take a break, and come back to whatever your doing. For example, I have learnt and i find that doing one task and then taking a break to do another task rather than just focusing on finishing one task at a time is less mentally tasking and even more productive. Working for long hours on one task can can take so much mental energy or lead to stress. Besides, I doubt human beings are naturally weird to focus on doing one thing for long even though some of us are naturally better at doing that than others.
4. Always room for improvement: you don’t have to be set in your ways, be more willing to be open-minded to trying other methods to achieving or completing a particular task no matter how much or long your own method has been working for you, there is no on one rule-book to getting anything done. It is okay if your old method that you are used to fails to work, there are multiple ways methods and perhaps even better ones. Keep experimenting with the trial and error method that is how you learn better and new ways of doing things, it could be something as simple as how you cook a particular meal try doing it some other way. Life isn’t that serious and no method is ever perfect.

What it’s like living with introvert(s) vs extrovert(s) - An introvert's perspective
My take as an introvert on living with introverts versus living extroverts - If your familiar with Myers Briggs or the terms introvert and extrovert you should be able to understand all I have written here or in this Youtube video to the left.
1. Space & boundary for introverts: Introverts almost automatically understand each other's need for space, boundary, and privacy. So there's less likeliness to meddle in each other's business, what is yours is yours, no one is taking/using what belongs to you unless your very close friends. Everyone keeps to their things or at least you know to seek permission before taking or using what doesn belong to you. Also, there's usually a mutual peace of mind that comes with knowing that you can be yourself and be by yourself at all times without feeling judged or guilty. However, there's a downside to this. Because introverts try as much as possible to respect each other's space, there is rarely ever a chance for true interaction and sometimes there's a sense of uneasiness that can arise when introverts are around each other. Talk about awkward!
2. Sharing for extroverts: In contrast, for an introvert living with an extrovert, there is less sense of boundary and privacy. An extrovert is ready to share their life with you, share your space, there is really no boundary in terms of what is yours is yours and what is mines is mines, rather what is in this house is ours to share irrespective of who it belongs to. However, i must admit that although it might be unusual or uncomfortable for introverts especially when its not a family member or close friend, it goes without saying that there is love I'm sharing!
3. Peace & quiet for introverts: Another advantage for introverts living together is knowing that you don't have to expect or jump into many unknown strangers in the house. Friends and invited guests are occasional even not rare. Hence there's always serenity and quiet in the home. Yet the downside to this is that it can be boring most times especially when introverts don't share common interests or whatsoever. You rarely ever get to truly connect with each other and each other’s friends. From my experience, introverts living together might never even cross parts for weeks if not more unless necessary or unavoidable like when sleeping or sharing the same bedroom !
4. Lively with extroverts: For an introvert living with an extrovert, get ready to meet new friends and unknown guests from time to time in the house and hear incessant friend discussions on the phone. There is rarely a boring moment. Say goodbye to perpetual quiet in the house and be ready to experience new things outside your comfort zone whether it's food, tv shows, outdoor activities etc. You are always invited to join! This may be difficult to adjust to or too much for introverts especially if they find it difficult to say no or are not used to saying no. However, this is normal, as an introvert you will just have to learn to say no at some point even though your careful not to hurt your extroverted housemate’s feeling.
In the end, i think introverts living with extroverted roommates has its perks and can be complementary. It can help bring out some qualities in you. But I wouldn't say living with an extrovert is better than living with an introvert or vice versa, you just need to be aware of the perks and loses, its up to you to decide which you prefer. Moreover, not everyone is the same and it can very well vary from person to personality etc. In my experience I find that intuitive extroverts compliment me better than sensing extroverts because we tend to share common interests and intuition yet I wouldn’t know if it were the same across the board. I will discuss more on this in an upcoming post and video, watch out!

The key components of a personal statement also known as a statement of interest used for application to university or college and a cover letter used for job applications include an introduction, main body, and conclusion.
However, keep in mind that the length of a personal statement varies from institution to institution, some may require a maximum of 500 words others no more than a 1000. Others may specify two pages. However, the standard is often somewhere between two to three page length, double-spaced, and 12 font size. But remember the more succinct your statement is, the better! Also, most times for a personal statement or statement of interest, including personal information such as your name, address, and others are left out at the beginning of the statement. The same format applies to a cover letter, but often times cover letters are shorter. They are between 1 to two pages in length, and you include personal information such as your name, address, and information of prospective employer at the top of the letter (see samples below).

For a cover letter, the same format applies, however you want to give a specific example of how you demonstrated or performed similar tasks to the job description, and include what the implications or outcomes were such as how the task performed benefited the company and benefited you, perhaps in the form a promotion/award/pay rise. 3. Conclusion: should be brief and non-repetitive of what you have already stated before, simply express appreciation for the program (or company) considering your application and your confidence in the program (or job) being a good fit for you, and you a good fit for the department/program (or job). Don’t forget to end with a formal parting such as yours faithfully, your name, and thank you.

What's the Difference between a CV & Resumé - How to Write a CV vs Job Resumé
For how to write a CV and resumé and or the differences between them continue reading or click on the Youtube video to the left. A Curriculum Vitae or CV short is used for an academic application to a university or college and a resumé is used for job applications in the United States (please see the samples of each in the section below). However, a CV is almost universally used in other countries for a job or academic application. The format for this though varies.
Length of an academic CV vs job resumé/CV: an academic CV is often long, especially for people with much academic related experiences, from anywhere between 2 or more pages, and sometimes more than six pages long. However a job resumé/ CV is shorter in length (between 1 and two pages max) if possible limit it to one page length. This is usually because of the massive number of applications received by an employer compared to academic institutions. Nonetheless, for a CV/resumé, the font size can vary between 10 to 12 but just remember to be consistent with whatever font style and size that you chose, and in the organization.
Layout of an academic CV vs job resumé/CV: For an academic CV, name and basic personal information is included at the top right (much more formal), followed by the sections namely profile, education, relevant experience, publications, awards/honors, grants and scholarships, and references (which is optional but highly recommended). But for a job resumé/CV, name and personal information is written at the top centre of the page, followed by a summary of qualifications tailored to that specific job, then a section on education, relevant coursework and experience, additional experience, interests, and references (which is very much optional). Also if you like, for a job resumé/CV, you can add a section on skills (were you can point out specific skills that may be needed in the job such as a software tool that you are experienced with or have expertise on, certifications for perhaps a training that you developed a certain or certain relevant skills, and sometimes people add language expertise especially if the job application requires it.
Content of an academic CV vs job resumé/CV: a key important feature that is necessary to take note of is the content, what is included and how. In general, that for an academic CV is often broad whilst that for a job resumé/CV is specific and as a result more detailed. 1) For instance, in the first section of an academic CV and job resumé/CV, the purposes are similar, which is to provide the employer/academic institution of a summary of who you are. But are quite different for both, for an academic CV, it is more about your research interests, whilst for a resumé, it is more about demonstrating your skill set related to that job position and that you are capable of working in that job position.
2) Another instance, the second section which is education that for an academic cv is much more simple. It includes a brief indication of your academic qualification, the subject/degree area and the year completed. Your other documents attached to an academic application such as transcripts already provide more information. Whereas, in a job resumé/CV, it is more detailed and specific. It also includes the academic GPA and specifics about the courses taken, which is detailed in the next section titled relevant coursework. Moreover, you often don’t attach a transcript(s) as part of the application process.
3) A third instance, is that whilst both types of CVs have a relevant experience section, it is also different in content and style. That for an academic CV reads like a summary, whereas that for a job application is specific and uses bullet points. In the sample below, you notice that bullet points are used throughout the job resumé/CV to highlight the specific task or experiences in each section. For a resumé, you want the employer or the application system to be able to quickly spot your skill and experiences at a quick glance. However, for both types of CVs, you want to make sure that you highlight the dates of the beginning and or ending of a particular experience, or whether its current and ongoing.
