SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICTION SURVEY
After taking the quiz " AM I ADDICTED TO SOCAL MEDIA?" The result stated that i use social media way too much .
You’re fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits out there. Still, it’s important to remember that UK adults spend an average of 8 hours and 41 minutes on screens every day — and 4 hours of that is on smartphone apps alone, mainly social media. That means about a third of each day is spent checking apps.
Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?
Based on the quiz result i do think i need to change my habit of using social media on daily bases. I am going to work on trying to find activites I can do on my free time instead of sitting sround watching watching social media.
The most interesting stat in the articles and suprised me the most was the people in America most commonly use Youtube and Facebook. 84% of the adults in US use Youtube and (71%) use Facebook. 50% of the adult use instagram. I wa suprised. i thougth now days most people use instagram more on daily bases. I didnt think that facebook was more popular then instagram.
In my opinion, social media has more positive impacts on society than negative ones. It helps me stay connected with long‑distance family and friends that I don’t see often. I can keep up with what’s going on in their lives and how they’re doing. Social media also keeps me updated on news and what’s happening around me.
However, social media does have some negative effects on me. Sometimes I see relationship reels on Instagram and start comparing them to my own personal relationship. When I do that, it causes stress and makes me feel unhappy after using social media
The lesson I learned is that I shouldn’t allow social media to affect my personal relationships or cause mental stress. What I see on social media shouldn’t be compared to my own life, because sometimes what you see, read, or hear online isn’t true. I need to remind myself not to relate everything on social media to my real life.
