2021 COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Due to the lingering corona virus and for the safety of our staff and customers, we are keeping some of last year's protocols this year. While walking around selecting your tree, masks will not be required, however we do ask that you maintain social distancing from other customers. If you enter the tree shed to pay or select wreaths or other greenery, masks may be required. We may also limit the number of customers in the tree shed. We will have masks available for anyone who needs one, and we have a window on the tree shed where you can pay from outside the building as well. Thank you for helping us all to stay safe and healthy.
Hill’s Tree Farm is part of a fourth generation general farm. We planted our first Christmas trees in 1982, and have been gradually adding additional species of trees since. We now grow four different kinds of fir, two of spruce, and two of pine. We also bring in freshly cut Fraser, Canaan, and Balsam firs from northern Minnesota. The Fraser Fir is a very popular tree that we have difficulty growing on our farm. We also do not grow Balsam Firs.
Every tree for sale will have a price tag attached with the kind of tree stamped on the tag, and this year, each tag will show the height of the tree. We encourage people to cut their own tree with hand saws we provide, but we will be glad to cut a tree for you if asked. Once the tree is cut, we mechanically shake the old needles out of the tree and net it for easy transport. We also offer a variety of tree stands.
Because of the continuing Covid-19 virus, we will be attempting to maximize social distancing. This year, we will be offering decorated wreaths, as well as hand-decorated greenery, baskets, mantle pieces, table center pieces, and greenery crosses. We will also be offering hot chocolate, but no cookies. You will have the option of paying for your trees and other items from outside or inside the tree shed. Also, for the first time, you'll be able to pay by Venmo or Paypal. Two fire pits will be going outside the tree shed for those who want to warm themselves and we'll be offering marshmallows for toasting over the fire. We appreciated your cooperation last year in keeping everyone safe, and we still encourage everyone to socially distance.
Your best Christmas memories probably involve a real tree. There’s something special about a real tree: the aroma, the beauty, the fun of decorating it. Keep the tradition alive. Treat yourself and your family to a real Christmas tree.
Our goal is to provide a family-friendly atmosphere with a personal touch, and to keep everyone as safe as possible from the corona virus.
Note: We accept cash, checks, credit cards, Venmo, or Paypal.
