What we do!
NHS does a lot to serve Hillcrest High School and its surrounding community. They also earn service hours by participating in service that is meaningful to them personally.
NHS Members have volunteered at the hospital, humane society, put on activities at a local assisted living center, tutored students, and fed the homeless. Many of them also serve as mentors and language aids for our students who need extra help in classes.
Requirements:
Maintain 3.5 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) and honorable citizenship in classes and programs.
Pay member fee of $20 to the main office ($10 optional for a tshirt) and give a copy of the receipt to Ms. Tui in the counseling center.
Complete 10 service hours per quarter
2 hours MUST be for a Hillcrest / NHS sponsored event
Attend 1 group meeting with your assigned officer and group every quarter.
Participate in fundraisers throughout the school year (such as Success Fund, GoFundMe, etc.)
Complete assignments given by advisors, officers, or peers.
Follow through with your service and other commitments, be honorable (no falsifying service hours), show responsibility and turn in your forms and other documentation on time.
