This page gives results of PCA and analysis using profiles by individual studies. Press the link under each study to see interactive web applications for each study.
Under each study, we also report the results measuring the consistency between a principal component and rhetorical profile. Specifically, we measure whether top-ranking speeches (top and bottom) on the original component (using all 28 the variables of the component) fall in the higher percentile of speeches on a profile (using only core and non-core variables) as well. The results reported on this page are based on the 50% percentile and 20 speeches on top and bottom. This means you get perfect consistency (100% or a score of 1 on a 0-1 scale) if all the top-rated speeches on the profile fall above the 50th percentile on the original component. If you press the link to results button for each study, you can explore the consistency at different cut-off values. As you can see all studies except for study 5 yielded 100% consistency between the original PCA component and the rhetorical profile derived from it.
