Collaboration Opportunity
We actively look forward to all kinds of collaboration opportunities on the research of high-entropy alloys (HEAs). The areas for potential collaborative researches (in which areas we might NEED your contribution) include, but are not limited to the following directions.
Experimental Side
Preparation of HEAs via the powder metallurgy route (including laser cladding), particularly on hard metals
Unique solidification facilities (rapid solidification, directional solidification, single crystal preparation, etc.)
Thermomechanical treatments (rolling, forging, etc.)
Severe plastic deformation (ECAP, high-pressure torsion, etc.)
Thin film/coating preparation
Novel materials synthesis and processing techniques (electropulsing treatment, etc.)
Nanomechanical testing (nanoindentation, etc.)
High-temperature testing (indentation, compression, and tensile tests, ideally in vacuum)
Test of functional properties (optical, electrical, magnetic, sonic, thermoelectric, wear, corrosive, bio-medical, etc.)
Transmission electron microscopy
Atom probe tomography
Neutron and synchrotron diffraction
Theoretical Side
AI (artificial intelligence) related materials design, machine learning, etc.
Constitutive relations
First principle calculations
Molecular dynamics simulations
Monte Carlo simulation
Thermodynamics calculation, e.g., CALPHAD
Microstructure evolution simulation (e.g., phase field)
Please email me at sheng.guo at chalmers.se if you are interested at any of the above mentioned research collaboration opportunities. Feel free to email me if your expertise is not listed and you have some brighter ideas.
If you want HEA materials from us, please also email me to discuss your ideas. We can prepare the materials you want for you, if the topic is of our common interest.
