Red Wattle Hogs are a large, red heritage breed of hog developed right here in North America. Registered Red Wattle Hogs are few in number, and we are excited about helping to conserve and improve this important breed. These pigs are excellent pork producers, with superb meat quality and rapid growth rates. In 2012, a Red Wattle Hog set the record at the Iowa State Fair, weighing in at more than 1,300 pounds! These pigs are extremely gentle, except maybe at mealtime when Penelope can be a bit pushy.
We currently have two registered Red Wattle Hogs--one proven breeding boar named Lenny and a gilt named Penelope.Â
We look forward to our first litter of piglets in Spring 2026!
